HERMIT + edward1849- ahah thanks guys, i'm not used to this. the only person that compliments me is my mom and i'm sure it's because she co-created my existence.. HAHA.

lhkim85 - it was insane traveling to different countries in between classes on weekends... imagine trying to write an essay at a hostel at 2 in the morning after trekking the jungle -_____- it was tough haha, but completely worth it. if you're not too settled, i'd recommend teaching english abroad somewhere for a year or two. so awesome biggrin.gif

it was actually quite painful for me in some parts but its tolerable and i didn't cry!! hahah

i bled a bit when the shading was done so the pearl turned bloody.. ewww

its a meaningful tattoo for me, although a little bigger than anticipated

the tattoo is in the memory of my mother. her chinese name meant "shining pearl" and the top date are her years.
she is also the 'light' which will bring me 'strength' and show me 'love'

this is a close up

day 1

not looking forward to scabbing..!

Nice pictures Xxxrated.
Like yourself, I just recently returned from a 3 week vacation in Europe:
London/Brighton, Paris, and Amsterdam.
*sigh* I've already been just over 1.5 weeks back but my head and heart are still over there.
Playing catchup at work sucks, haha.
Like myself, I hope you had a lot of fun on your trip. Judging from the pics, it looks like you enjoyed much better weather than I did, seeing that you were in the more temperate southern part of Europe.
Cheers. smile.gif

XxXrated: Those are some beautiful shots. I wish I could go to Europe this summer.

Cinpee: The Thai Temple is so ornate and pretty. Tiger petting? Wow, I'd love that. And for the record, I think you're so much more pretty au natural than dolled up. =)

Hermit, I know exactly what you're saying. Coming back to work definitely sucked. Though i'm glad to have a job to come back to and it's still better than having no vacation. The weather was amazing the entire trip, except for one day, when we were at the country side in Rome. It even hailed. I packed way too warm, and had to buy another pair of shorts in Corfu. We went to Venice, Florence, Rome, Catania, Naples, Corfu, Argostoli, Santorini, Dubrovnik and Barcelona.

I think May/June's the best time to go. Anytime after that could get really hot. I was in Greece a couple years ago, and got caught in the deadly heatwave while we're at Athens. The sunset at Santorini looked just as beautiful this time around. That's one of my favorite places from all my travels.

Glad to hear you had a great time. Amsterdam was...I don't remember wink.gif. There's so much to see/do in Europe, we're already planning our next trip. Well, whenever we replenish the travel fund after going beyond budget on this one =*P.

Lots of europe vacationers here. My lil bro just got back from backpacking in europe, he bought back delicious Belgian chocolates and a little wooden clog from Holland for me. The best thing about people taking vacations are the goodies brought back for people stuck at home.. like me.

Nice tat, tastefully done. From the faraway pic I thought it was the Buddhist wheel of life.

I have yet to get a tattoo so far I only have a few body piercings.

A pic of me webcam chatting with my sweetheart. Stuck a clip art heart on his face since he'll probably want to remain anonymous.

LDRs suck. 3 more months to go!

That's a wicked nice tat and what a beautiful meaning behind it. You're brave.

XxXrAtED: I envy you. The pics are great. Just seeing them makes me wonder WHY did I not go to Hong Kong, China, and Singapore with my friends 2 weeks ago. laugh.gif

I echo that same sentiment, where May seems to be the optimal time to go because it's also just before that notorious peak season where even the Europeans themselves start going on their respective holidays and adding more to the tourist crowd as well. But for my personal preferences, I like May because it seems to me that the daylight lasts the longest (at least to me, since I'm from San Diego and further down the hemisphere). With daylight lasting practically up until 9 to 930pm, depending upon how far north in Europe you are, you can really optimize your sightseeing time because the days are so long.

XXX: I love the venice pic

JJM: How does those feet detoxify thingy work? I saw an ad for it and didn't quite believe it.

^ I totally don't understand any of you girls who want to collect those ridiculously expensive shoes. They seriously look like any other $30-50 pair of shoes. What's the justification for paying a thousand dollars for one? They're not obviously branded (like purses or watches).

There's a world of difference between $50 shoes and $500 shoes. And if you can afford them, justification is not needed.
