i don't really get why people are saying the animation is better. it looks the same to me. even from this screencap i saw, tsunade's hand looked all deformed.

i didn't really imply that but i guess i would. it'd save me time at least(sure, i'd rather watch the fights but who knows how much other crap i have to get through just to get to them). i lost interest in the show a long time ago but i guess a part of me still cares enough to want to see how it ends. apparently this seems to happen to me a lot of times when i get into a shonen jump show. bleh.

But honestly, I'm expecting 150+ episodes from Shippuden.

^Yeah, that was a filler. They've changed and added some stuff differently from the manga.

Just checked. So that scene was filler. The scene where Naruto meets the other characters were different too. I think they are doing a little bit better with managing the fillers. Doing fillers and making part of the episode filler is better than relying so much on episodes being 100% filler. Something I don't think they did enough of with the first Naruto and why they spent so long on filler arcs.

I felt these new episodes were disappointing. The anime sorta just re-emphasizes why Naruto isn't so interesting anymore. I was irritated by all the Sasuke-ism. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we know Naruto loves Sasuke and crap, but no need to recap and bored us with their love story.

I wasn't that much impressed with them either and because of some of the things that are being done in the anime. The show looks like it should be called Sasuke sometimes. As far as Sasuke goes I got annoyed by him in the manga.

Naruto needs some better conflicts or whatever else to keep him interesting. Right now, he's just a boring hero.

What's happening in the manga isn't changing my views about him differently. He hasn't changed much to me and I still find him a loser.

Don't see what is so good about the new animation either. The characters got uglier. Not to mention Sakura.

I'm willing to bet Kakashi Gaiden will be a tv special or something like that. If not then they can probably use that as filler and insert it somewhere at some point.

i actually perfer the manga over the anime. i do like the anime because it animates what happens but manga seems so much faster to get through...and i'm pretty impatient.

I honestly don't understand how the animations could've gotten any worse. Honestly, where in the show specifically have the animations gone wrong? Let alone the artwork. If you think the filler episodes had better artwork and animations, I will seriously smack you.

yeah at least it's not worse than the fillers i think the main problem is you guys reading the manga first and then comparing the anime to the manga, as well as just having high expectations for the anime episodes due to the long wait. im ok with it, i've already mentioned before in this thread tnat i dont expect the anime to live up to the expectations its been getting.

^ yeah, pretty much. since i'm a big fan of the manga, i'd like the anime to be played out in the same fashion.

but of course, there's variations where the anime was better than the manga. one example would be full-metal alchemist. the manga is way different from the anime, but i still enjoyed the anime more.

it's just that with mangas, it's more straight forward and they don't dilly-dally around whats going to happen. (honestly can't believe i used "dilly-dally" right there...)

I like the new art and such. I think it gives it a bit of a fresh look and feel to the anime. I dunno why so many people dislike it. I think the change was good.

Ironically, one of the main reasons why they "dilly-dally" in the anime is because the anime is actually a LOT faster than the manga. The manga is ahead of the anime at this point, but that doesn't make it FASTER than the anime, because the anime can go through like 2 or three chapters in one episode alone per week, whereas the manga only does a little amount in one chapter per week. This isn't something exclusive to Naruto either; Bleach and several other anime which rely on their counterpart manga have done the same thing.

The thing that irked me about how the anime played out the previous episode was the little Sasuke teaser at the beginning...you'd have thought that they would like NOT show the character's faces just to tease us more, but no, they just flat out showed their faces and ruined the monumental feeling of that scene...and plus, if they hadn't shown their faces, it would have created a lot more suspense for the audience than it already has. And then they had to throw in the Kyuubi scene that totally ended at a random stop point (although the fact that they added that scene in at all could mean that the scene might actually be very significant, more significant than the manga made it to be, especially that whole "Uchiha Madara" part).

As far as the rest of the episode goes...Konohamaru's scenes with the cat and all were filler, but it was actually USEFUL filler, because it kinda gave the audience a bit of nostalgia when Naruto and his team went on that very same mission back then. Sakura's and Naruto's memories about their final meetings with Sasuke were also filler, but they were key dramatic elements which accented what they felt about the situation and what drove them to become stronger. Those memories basically gave the characters more life than they had in the manga. The way the characters were re-introduced were also different from the manga, but the way the anime played it out was excellent, especially in that one scene where Tsunade is about to introduce Naruto's opponent, and there's a knock on the door, and you'd think that the person entering would be Naruto's opponent, but it just turns out to be Shikamaru and Temari, and Tsunade then points out Naruto's real opponent outside the window, where Naruto goes to see Kakashi sitting on the roof in typical fashion. I said this before, but the cue music for Akatsuki near the episode's end was excellent in that it gave quite an ominous feeling of the coming attack...

Given how I tend to frequently post about the latest chapter news in the manga section, it's not surprising that I have read every single manga chapter up to present. I would normally be satisfied with how the action is presented in the manga, and how much I know of what's happening, but there are just things in the manga that I would rather see in animation, and often the anime presents the manga in different ways which serve to highlight important aspects that the manga normally doesn't do, and the previous episode is an example of this. That's pretty much why I still watch the anime despite the fact that I already know of everything's that gonna happen.
