hmm...i do boxing and it requires hard forearms...and i need em basically...
and i've been doing forearm curls for about a month and a half and it got harder but
my sis (nurse) said that it ruins your wrist and your gonna get a disease of something,so i stopped imediately..
i used 5 pound weights and 2 sets of 50 with a 1 minute break wen i got to 50...
and i hav hand grippers...would this really make my forearms more toned and harder?

You'll realize everything you lift will require strong forearms: bench, curls, any sort of lifts you'll need your forearm for support and to stabilize. I don't recommend 2 sets for anything. Cut your reps down to 30, up the weight, and go for 4 sets. The forearms are composed of such small muscles, you can couple them with any other muscle group while lifting, i.e. do them after chest day, after back days, after arms day, doesn't matter ^ ^.

Oh, your sis is worried about you getting tendonitis. Don't worry, if you have good technique and rest right, then nothing will happen. Your shoulder joints and elbows aren't messed up when you flat bench twice your weight; your wrist won't die on you any time soon : ).

Just do the curls...at 5 lbs it's not going to hurt you at all. Maybe when you get up to like forearm curls of 70 lbs or more. I've got huge nasty Pop-eye fore arms from tennis--almost everything requires strong forearms. Up the weights. Just make sure you stretch beforehand. Also curl with both under and over grips.

tried using The Powerball? You'll need something above 250Hz, you can find videos on www.firebox.com. This helps me strengthen my forearms.

just doing things involving your arms will increase your forearm muscles =) my arm used to be limp but i played tennis and it got harder and noticeably bigger than my left.. o_o;;

since you're doing boxing, can you get access to a preacher bench/heavier weights/a speed bag? just do anything on a preacher bench (i.e.regular/reversed/hammer curls) and you'll work your forearms. or if you don't have access to equipment, then just find a seat/bench and put your forearms on it and do wrist curls.

there seems to be a lot of different opinions on how you train for different sports but the way i'd do it is 3 sets of 8 reps using medium (but still difficult) weight. if i wanted to do boxing, i'd probably try to be explosive on the way up, then slow and controlled on the way down.

your grippers would probably help more for wrestling sports than boxing. it'd probably help you a bit, though the muscles you use for grip strength are slightly different to the ones you use for boxing.

Not really.

Involves most of your arms and shoulders and technique.

The best way to grow forearms is heavy deadlifts.
