Okay so. I just started classes this week and I found out that we don't have paper homework. We have WebAssign. It's like... $12-15 a class (I think). Except for my CH 101 class, which is $51. So who else has to PAY to do HOMEWORK?! (gosh, tuition is paid and they throw in this random homework crap...)

and we have this aplia thing for econ classes costs a butt load..like around $100 or somethin, and then gotta buy the book as well.

i did it for my eco and accounting class. expensive and waste of money. but professor likes them cux they don't have to grade the hws themselves ....geezz they should think about the students who has to pay for tuition, textbooks, etc....

Had to use webassign for my physics ii class....I hate it. Sometimes it tells you that your answer is wrong, then you go check later and see that it was actually right, just marked wrong....x[

Woo. I just found out that my chem teacher didn't even really make up the questions. So... if it's the same for my math teacher... I guess it kind of makes sense. But I still kind of miss my pen and paper for homework. lol.

yep, i have to use webassign for my calc class, but for me, its free b/c the code is included in new books, and i bought a new book, so therefore i didnt have to pay
but i think for calc, if one doesnt have the code, that person has to spend like $25-$35 just to buy the access code thingie....

Yeh I had to do that with chemistry it was rather unplesant to know I had to pay for it AND it was incredibly annoying! Like evil multiple choice tests that if you don't get 3 of 5 right you have to do another set for the section.

I have that for my accounting class...
It was 60$ for the code! and then I needed to get the textbook and a booklet for more homework... HAHAH WTF.
I just did one of the assignments and I seriously don't see why she could have just printed similar questions on paper. I guess she didn't want to grade it? =[

My school uses something called webCT, similar in that homework's given through the site (with those multiple choice assignments..) but you didn't have to pay to access it. I hated it though. I had to use it for my first year Linguistics and Psychology courses. The multiple choice assignments were terrible...especially for Linguistics. I would choose the right answer, but then it would come up with the results and it'd say I got it wrong. Other people in my class complained too so she'd offer alternative choices that would be checked right for that q. I'd rather have done a paper-done assignment in the first place.

i actually grown to love webassign. it's much better than webct
All the problems in on webassign are in you book. haha
which makes it super easy. just do your calculations.
look up the answer in the back if you're having problems entering in the answer.
find the problem in the book, note the numbers may be different from the book.

its stupid at first but once you get used to it, its really easy to work with
just look at the numbers they give you for your problems. That's how many sigfigs you're suppose to enter

i just had to pay for WILEY. I hate it, it's stupid.
It had the same answers twice, so i didnt know which one to pick.hahha

Wow I am so lucky to be in a more traditional school, and in a very traditional field of study.

The most I have ever had to do was for my Criminology class (weird elective) we had to pay like 25cents for the test booklets from the student store, that was pretty funny I thought, to make you pay to take a test.

I usually have outdated textbooks even, the most expensive book I bought for class this year was $30, and that was new! lol

I think a lot of school uses webct... My school also use webct, and my teacher assign hw on applia as well. =) you'll get used to it, it's just like paying for a book and the booklet to do assignments in.

Ick. I'm using that right now for my chem class and I don't really like it.
Mainly because I keep forgetting about it and I always end up doing it the HOUR before it's due.
And I paid like...$15 for mine.
