Talent for talent, Ford and CV's numbers are almost identical. 12 and 6 assists, compared to 13 and 6 boards. Now people are ragging on BC now because they believe that CV is going to become an allstar (may or may not happen) but the bottom line is, we needed to do what's best for the TEAM right now and the simple fact is, we had (still have) too many forwards and a lack of guards, especially a true PG. Now whether or not CV turns into a monster ball player in the future doesn't matter because his PT woulda gone down with the addition of Bargnani and with Bosh demanding more attention as well so staying here would have been bad for him as well.
Basically, we got what we wanted and only time will tell if it was a bad deal but like i said earlier, if CV blows up in Milwaukee, there's no reason to believe that he would have if he stayed playing behind Bosh and Bargs.
And to all the naive fans out there (not on this board) who keep saying, "but CV wanted to retire as a raptor, he loved it here" i think you should take a reality pill. He may be telling the truth, I don't know but it's no reason to attach yourself to the guy. Athletes in every city say the exact same thing. It's a PR move. CV was repeating back exactly what Vince said and we know what happened there.
Put more trust in BC, the guy is no dummy and has built one of the most fun and successful teams in the league (Phoenix). Not to mention an NBA Exec of the Year award to boot.

Seeing as how we have Ford, it's highly unlikely we'll be bringing back James to play backup, or even as an off-guard. Especially not at the ticket he's gonna be asking for.

Great post
Man..I wish BC was our GM instead of Kevin Mcfail. I def can see Raps a contender in 2-3 years. Solid group of young players. If they can manage to get Durant or Young next year to play SF, Im gonna have to jump on the Raps bandwagon! haha!

Yao was a foreigner selected with the 1st overall pick
I agreed, this draft was a drop off after 8. First one to say Foye or Roy will win ROY!!!!

Just got the chance to read it all. I agree with everything you're saying.
All my friends were "WTF WHAT A DUMB DEAL" but I pointed out that Raptors had too many big men with insufficient ball distribution.
Then they shutted up

Sixers contacted the agents of Jared Jeffries and Ben Wallace. hmmmmm....going after Big Ben??? could the Sixers really be holding onto AI for one more year? (why trade away AI, but sign a 32 year old Big Ben?) hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Well ... you don't exactly get a great pick with all the hype when you have one of the last picks of the first round. xD
I hope Ben stays will Detroit. Must keep Detroit intact.
Peja at Hornets. hmmm that'll be pretty nice.
Paul + Peja + J.R. + Mason + PJ + others - the Birdman. haha

That dunk contest was hilarious. I think Nate Robinson's dunk was pretty hard to perform and the fact he's 5"9' makes it less embarassing for him as it was for Birdman.
well the birdman was white so he does have an excuse.

my only problem with the villanueva/ford trade is that i feel that villanueva has much more potential than ford. and its not like he's not going to use that potential, being stuck behind people. his one year of experience will probably warrant him more playing time than the rook. but the raptors finally got the pass-first point guard they need, so we'll see what happens.
