i feel so sorry for kevin garnett, along with paul pierce. they're never gonna win a championship unless they pull a gary payton and go from team to team until they finally find one where they can win.

I think Paul Pierce is gonna stay with the Celtics until he retires.. I do agree, after watching celtics for about 7 years, I think they need to improve a lot. They did way too much trades last season... WAYYY too much.

As long as the Nets bomb, I'm all for it.

It'll be interesting to see how well they do with an improved bench.

Bulls? I don't know. I think they'll be pretty good this year.

Not just because of Ben Wallace, but also because of the young talent.

I think they will be pretty good but not as good as some people say.

It's interesting how many people are writing off the Pistons as championship contenders thanks to these off season trades.

...Coincidently, its about as many people that are deeming the Bulls contenders, young talent or no young talent.

It'll be an interesting season for the EC.

well ben wallace was an integral part of the pistons team. if rasheed wallace wasn't semi-injured during the playoffs, they might've gotten past the heat.

big ben was an integral part of that team, but i think, with who they have, the pistons can still compete at a high level.

agreed but i think they might have to change up their style slightly. nazr mohammad isn't the defensive powerhouse that big ben was but mohammad is a much better scorer. so flip has a lot more plays he can run now that ben isn't there but basketball isn't played on paper. we'll just have to see how it all goes when basketball season comes by.

i agree. they'll be able to compete. they still have 4 all star caliber players on the roster, and thats a lot more than most teams. i really think they could help themselves by signing bonzi wells, for a year contract, and people see it happening, especially since bonzi and 'sheed are good friends. they would definetley replace the loss of maurice evans. they really need to get some depth on the front court. mcdyess is getting old.

The Pistons are a very good team. But out of the four best players Rasheed, Billups, Hamilton, and Prince you can't say one of them is a superstar.

i wouldnt call them 'superstars' either, nevertheless they are still top tier players. their style of play will change, i see them leaning towards offense this season more than they did in their past few seasons. bonzi wells would be a good addition, but would he be ok coming off of bench behind hamilton, chauncey, and prince?

^ what do you mean? last year they were all about the offense! weren't the league leaders or up there in points scored? it was a big change from larry brown to flip, and i've read some articles that the change from defensive minded to offensive minded play was what cause the demise of the pistons. ben wallace was mad that all the offensive sets and plays flip had were never aimed toward him.

and bonzi better be happy, cuz we know he's not better than either tayshaun or richard

[edit] sorry i was wrong. my bad. they weren't up there in points scored.

If Bonzi doesn't re-sign with the Kings then Artest will kill him, lol.

whether they are top in scoring or not, im just saying, this season they'll put even more emphasis on offense than the past few seasons with the lost of big ben and the addition of nazr.

Agreed w/shot, the Piston's focus shifts to the otherside of the court now that they have another option.

Defensively, they're fine as a team, sure they lose some of that intimidation but it isn't like they revolved all around Ben anyways.

I am so glad that Don Nelson is coming back to coach the Warriors. I was a big fan of the Run TMC era, that actually got me into watching NBA games. My interest has been decreased in recent years. May be he will get me back to following NBA again. smile.gif
