What the Lakers need to do is get rid of Lamar Odom and Bynam and pick someone up like Kevin Garnett. Now that would be amazing. Kobe is an amazing player; however, his team sucks. And we've seen his history with an amazing center(Shaquille O'neal), thus one can conclude that if Kobe has a good center(Kevin Garnet, who can also play a power forward) then the team can be very dominate. The lakers really don't need a point guard, they just need someone on the low post that can score because Kwame Brown, Lamar Odom, and Andrew Bynam are just disgusting on the post; they suck.

My roommate and I were discussing this last night. He's a Laker fan and he feels that the Lakers would suck even more next year and will likely not make the playoffs, which I can agree on. Kobe right now is really a one man team. The only thing his team is good for is to have a defensive presence(although they suck defensively, you still need some guys out on the floor). Though, I admit they played some awesome defense the second half last night.

Garnett is not a 5. He will get destroyed by Yao and Duncan in the west.

i think if they develop jordan farmar, he'll be right for the mix. plus jordan farmar, unlike smush parker has the mental capacity to play inside and run the triangle offense. imo getting rid of lamar odom is a very bad idea but if its going to take him to get kg, we can't really argue about it. id rather trade browns ass. if mihm doesn't do crap next year... ima be hella pissed.

am i the only person who thinks not getting Kidd during the trade deadline is a good idea? the reason i say this is because imo, usually trades occurring at the deadline requires alot more than you would get during offseason. imo a stars price is expensive during the season, the gm's tend to ask more. i seriously think they can get more trading bynum during offseason then during the season.

ALSO THE REASON I DONT THINK THEY ARE GONNA TRADE BYNUM PERIOD IS THEY HAVE INVESTED TOO MUCH ON HIM ALREADY. LAKERS ARE NOT A DEVELOPMENTAL TEAM. MEANING THEY DONT DEVELOP THE TALENTS FOR OTHER TEAMS AND TRADE THEM AWAY. LAKERS ARE THE TEAM THAT TAKES AWAY PLAYERS THATS DEVELOPED FROM A TEAM. also they hired kareem to guide bynum... lakers have high hopes for this kid, i doubt they'll trade him.

o yea btw, anyone watch last nights game on tnt? lol sam cassell sounded like he wanted to be a laker wink.gif haha KOOOOBEEEE KOOOBEEEE.

and can someone explain the salary cap for nba? i know baseball has a salary cap thing where you go over but u gotta pay a fine. if its like that in nba... i think jerry buss should just go over it and get a star player sad.gif

Read the exceptions... it's not that easy though.

No star player is gonna take a huge paycut.

Unless he's Kawwwl Mawwloan

Teams above the cap (or teams below the cap but would end up more than $100,000 over the cap following a trade) can't acquire more than 125% plus $100k of the salary they trade away.

The Luxury tax is what you're talking about, for every dollar they go over the limit, they end up paying to the league. But you can only do that w/your own players (unless they can trade for Garnett, his Bird Exception would follow him)

About that scrub Smush, he tried to show up the Suns. It's like trying to run up the score, except Smush realized that it'd be the only time he could get a dunk w/out getting raped by Amare.

i was against the kidd trade... but because it wouldve destroyed the already weakened LA frontcourt

theres actually no salary cap in the mlb lol

and i think the lakers do need a PG... farmars okay, but smush needs to get out, shammond is not worth the LLE, and sasha sucks. im hoping they try for steven blake in the off-season... mo williams would be better but i think the bucks will resign him

this raptors nets game is fantastic!!!!!!!!!

i'm so glad the first round of the playoffs is now a best of 7 series.....to get incredible games such as this and the Laker's games...

NBA.....I LOVE THIS GAME!!

they should have a mercy rule in the NBA...when your down by 35+ or 3 games to 0, your team can vote to end the game (read with sarcasm....but a bit of truth too). laugh.gif

yay with the mercy rule, nay with the best of seven series

with the mercy rule though, i suppose you'd be missing out on some potential amazing comebacks :\

GS within two of dallas... ooOoOOoOOo
it would def. make an amazing series if GS won today
probably turn out like the la/phoenix series from last year
