That's wacked. The Lakers couldn't have gotten that many wins if their lives depended on it. They just don't have the players and don't expect them to arrive anytime soon.

I understand the Laker fans' frustration but that's what you get for getting spoiled. We should take an example from the Warriors who are celebrating like they just won the championship.

The Lakers are definitely a 50 win team, at least. If their players were at 100% in health, they'd easily compete with the top teams in the league. As bad as some of you make them out to be, the Lakers are a SOLID team. Maybe not Championship contenders, but possible 2nd round to Conference Finals caliber. They match up well with very many teams in the league. Only 10 games out of their entire season, including Playoffs that they lost by 15 or more. Not bad considering their "horrid" line up that so-called "Laker fans" and "Laker haters" talk about.

i wouldnt go as far as saying they are one of the top teams... but in top 8 if they had healthy players. but like i said, they shouldve gotten 50-55 wins if they were healthy.

team chem was good beginning of year but that fell apart with injuries. its a solid line up (they couldve easily been 4,5,6 seed), but kobe does need a complement.

LOLLERockets.

I don't know about the Lakers, there are only so many wins to go around, other than pick off everyone outside of the top 3 in the east and the bottom feeders in the west.

jazz and warriors is a better match up than warriors and rockets anyways.

yao would have been inaffective if they went up against warriors.

if everyone wasn't plagued by injuries, at least 50-55 wins.

they were 16-8 to begin the season with luke, smush, kwame starting so that 3/5 of the lineup isn't as bad as 76ers. plus kobe didnt even play alot of mins to begin the season cuz he was coming back from surgery.

nope. they wouldn't of won 50-55 games this year eventhough hecka teams sucked this year. They were 16-8 because they had a nice home schedule. They might of won 3 more games with their whole team. The Lakers aren't going anywhere unless they make some major changes.

well, i think that matchup works both ways. cuz yao wouldn't be able to do anything on the defensive end, but then golden state wouldn't be able to stop yao inside. in fact, nobody in the current golden state rotation(i'm thinking of biedrins and harrington who are the only two guys who play center) would be able to contend with yao. but yeah, he also wouldn't be able to play defense against both of them.

That's bogus. MJ won his last title and MVP at 35. Kobe himself said that he can play at his current level for 6 or 7 more years.

That's why I feel the Lakers shouldn't rush anything this summer but they should do something by next summer though.

rolleyes.gif
Kobe doesn't have enough to play at this current level for another 6 or 7 years. It's his 11th season, that's alot of minutes including playoff time. Consider that and the way he's had to carry this team for the past three years. Kobe knows it too, he can't keep this up another 7 years.

As for the Lakers' summer, I say dump all the scrubs on the Lakers, including Bynum. Sure everybody knows this kid has potential, but as a Laker fan I refuse to wait for this kid to "potentially" blow up to be the next big man in the NBA. I hear people constantly say that Kobe is the greatest player in the game today, so does it make sense to wait for a prospect and let Kobe's prime go to waste? Doesn't make sense to me. Besides, Bynum seems lazy and uncoordinated. I don't see the intensity or the drive to win in Bynum.
Dump Smush, he's the sorriest PG to ever start for the Lakers. Dump Kwame, he's Kandi man part deuce. And I'll bet money that a majority of people who live in LA have no clue who Aaron McKie is.
I don't care who we get, as long as we get somebody that'll relieve some of the pressure off Kobe. More so than Lamar did this year.

On another note: Way to choke Houston.
Of course, the idea that Kobe is better than Jordan -- or even the best player in this league -- is as repugnant to some folks as a rectal exam. - Jemele Hill, ESPN

Well actually, they would be able to stop yao inside. On their last game of the season, they held yao to only 4 shots the whole game. The way they did it was they would have harrington front yao the whole time, and if they still got the ball to him, a second defender would come and smother him from behind..sorta like what they did to dirk. It was very effective.

i have yet to hear someone that likes him.
