whose hating on pistons because they are from detroit? and imo they are not the underdogs.

i actually like pistons coming out from the east. i want so see pistons vs. spurs for the finals.

my sister and brother want that to happen so we can show spurs who should of won......in 05

Suns and Warriors.

100+ per team games. That'd be nice.

Redrose13: So the one single team is the underdog... The one single team that doesn't make the weaker Eastern Conference look like an entire laughing stock. The one single team that has 4 guys in their starting lineup who won the Championship back in '03-04 together and made it into the Finals again the year afterwards. The one single team that spanked the Orlando Magic in the first round so far and are currently spanking the Bulls. The one single team with a stacked starting lineup with Chris Webber, Rasheed Wallace, Tayshaun Prince, Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups... are underdogs because people supposedly don't Detroit?

Right, and the Charlotte Bobcats are gonna go 72-10 next season.

pistons are the underdogs.......i mean come on, on NBA acess...they ALWAYS do a show about a the suns and other team only once about the pistons....also the sun's game are ALWAYS showed on local tv station but not pistons.......also they talk about how good pistons are but they show no respect to them.......wat u wrote doesn't make any sense.....just telling u

why? that's trading a project, and then drafting a project
the bulls should look for a better offensive player, espeically with ben wallace as a front court mate. hibbert still needs to develop a better post game, and learn to pass out of the double team better. he's still a couple years away from being good, and the bulls could really use somebody that will help now, like horford.

Well, Horford wasn't really known much of an offensive player either. That's why analysts were going 'Wow' when he did so well in the NCAA tournament. But I agree with you on Hibbert. He's like 2 years away from becoming a solid contributor. He's a project.

But, I'd still draft him and then trade for a low-post presence ala Pau Gasol, Jermaine.

...or secretly pray that Tyrus and Mike Sweetney become solid low post scorers.

That'd definitely be cool to see. A guy from China that isnt a big man come up in the NBA. I wonder though, why arent there any asian americans goin for the NBA? I rarely see any asians playing ball outside of HS.

There's that kid from China who is a good guard prospect. Cheng Jinghua is his name I think. He's 6'1 or 6'2 and has a lot of upside.

Suns will have one of the latest first round picks.
heres a mock draft of 08 http://www.nbadraft.net/index.asp

in your own mock draft, the suns draft fourth... in which case they WILL grab Yi.

pistons aren't the underdogs. the last time the pistons were the underdogs were when they played the lakers in 2004. the past few years there have been no clear-cut favorites; instead, there is a trio or quartet of teams favored to win it all. the past few years, the pistons have been included in that group, and this year its no different. the only reason why pistons get less national exposure than say the suns is because the suns generate higher ratings due to their style of play. the pistons get plenty of respect. analyists constantly praise the pistons... what else did you want?

...he's been a disappointment. He was compared to Elton Brand when he was drafted by the Knicks but if he doesn't lose some weight then his career will be quite short and full of disappointment.

YiJi's alot more fluid than Gasol.
there's a short clip up on youtube that shows YiJi smoke Gasol off the dribble.
you don't know where this kid's talent levels off. from what i've seen, this guys the next KG.

Ahem... http://www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/yijianlian.html

YiJi's recent stats:
QUOTE
Notes: Averaged: 20.5 PPG, 57.41 FG %, 75.08 FT%, 9.6 RPG, 1.3 BPG, 1.2 APG, 2.0 SPG in the 2005-06 season. Flirted with the idea of declaring for the NBA draft, but chose to stay with his Guangdong Tigers team and Chinese Olympic team. Has proven himself against American players in junior competitions (playing well at the ABCD camp in New Jersey) ... Did not perform well at the 2005 Hoops Summit game ...

Garnett's career stats:
QUOTE
49.1% FG, 78.0 FT% 11.4 RPG, 4.5 APG, 1.4 SPG, 1.7 BPG, 20.5 PPG

KG is a ferocious monster that's scary on both ends of the courts. Not to say YiJi won't be a good player (he COULD be, or could be a bust, you never know) but he will not be the next Garnett in terms of versatility. Probably won't rack up the assists KG does, especially with the NBA's tougher tempo. Or match his intimidation level.

Uhh... I'm pretty sure I made a lot sense. Or maybe I have to record my sarcasm over a microphone instead of posting it. The undisputed top team (the Pistons) in the East... is NOT the underdog. If ANY team in the east faced off against whatever west team in the Finals, the West team would be the favorites no doubt. ANY team in the east... except for the Pistons. If the Pistons make it to the Finals, which they will, people will consider them equal opponents against the West team in the finals. People do take the Pistons seriously. You know why they haven't had "much respect" this year? Because without Ben Wallace, the team became rather boring and struggled with Nazr Mohammed filling in his spot. You have any idea how much attention was drawn to them after they went on that tear after getting Chris Webber? The only reason that the Pistons don't get as much attention as the teams in the East is because their players aren't as marketable and statistically productive as certain other players. People go ooh and ahh over guys like Amare Stoudemire and LeBron James. Second of all, they're in the weak Eastern Conference, so it's rather easy for them to be so good in the win column. Oh and seeing how Four Pistons made the Eastern All-Star team last year, and that's not respect? How do people not provide any respect to a team that just made it to their fifth straight Eastern Conference Finals?

Right, and I made no sense...
NEWSFLASH: I HAVEN'T BEEN A MODERATOR FOR LIKE 2-3 YEARS, SO STOP MESSAGING ME ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS.

In the end, half court offense beats a "run and gun" offense.

I'm sure its fun to play (and watch) run and gun offense but a disciplined half court offense and defense will become the champ.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODBYE LIL' SUNS.

Now that the 2nd Round is over time to look back at my picks:

Jazz over Warriors in 7: Right
Spurs over Suns in 6: Exactly Right
Pistons over Bulls in 7: Right
Cavaliers over Nets in 6: Exactly Right

So it's 4 for 4 with two Exactly Rights. Not bad. Not bad at all.

So no need to change my previous picks for the later Rounds. Here they are:

Conference Finals:
Spurs over Jazz in 5
Pistons over Cavaliers in 5

Finals:
Spurs over Pistons in 6
Finals MVP: Tim Duncan

if both types of offenses are worked to perfection, both run&gun and halfcourt has an equal chance at winning. spurs won.. they're a good team and well executed but there was also a bit of luck there with the exchange of horry for amare and diaw, otherwise i do think there will be a game 7 easily. also, the officials in game 6 were whack for both teams (more for pheonix though).

yi may be good but he wont be as good as KG, i have yet to see an asian player coming into NBA being able to match the intensity and physical level of the game. yao took a while to adjust to it too and i expect yi to do the same thing if not worse (not being able to be physical and agressive too).

right now i hope its jazz vs pistons in the final.. that or spurs vs pistons. i dont like watching cavs sleep.gif

i guess you never saw Ha Seung-jin play than.... laugh.gif laugh.gif

it will take a minimum of 2-3 years for Yi to become a solid player...maybe more. The NBA is not the CBA (Chinese League)...I think he will realize that in his first pre-season game.

with the suns out....the ratings are destined to be worse than any CW show.........

Spurs vs Jazz is gonna be a great series.
IMO, I think the series can go to a game 7.

Deron <-> Parker - Tony Parker will probably drive to the basket like always because he's quicker. But Deron can also try to back down Tony Parker. Like how he did when Ellis guarded him in the GS series.

Derek Fisher <-> Ginobili = I don't know about this one (Manu will probably get his points)

This is what I think:

->
AK47 <-> Duncan - This may sound crazy but it might work because AK doesn't really have a consistent outside shot. So Duncan can just stay back and help out on defending Carlos Boozer. Could be bad though if AK decides to drive it in and draw some fouls on Duncan.

Boozer <-> Oberto/Elson - If I were the Spurs, I would put Oberto/Elson on Boozer because I wouldn't risk getting Duncan out of the game.

This probably won't happen.. Boozer will probably match up with Duncan and AK will probably come from the weak side to help. Boozer is fast and ain't afraid of nobody so I see him attacking Duncan like he did against Yao Ming. On defense, Boozer can try to front Duncan and have AK help like he did against Yao.

<-

Okur <-> Bowen - Okur really stays outside so I think Bowen can do what he does on him.

Matchups
Deron - Parker
Manu - Derek Fisher
AK47 - Duncan*
Boozer - Oberto/Elson*
Okur - Bowen
