Rice Question : Rice Vs Water Ratio how much do you use?

reason i am asking is because my parents usually use 1:1 and compared to the rice i eat in chinese and korean restaurant, our rice is dry....

I like dry rice.
But you are right about the rice in Korean/Japanese restaurants. I don't know what they do with the rice, but it tastes soooo banging!

My grandma taught me to lay my hand flat on top of the rice and see where the water rises.

If you get the water to rice ratio right, it'll taste like the rice from Korean & Japanese restaurants.
It also helps to soak it for 20-30 minutes before cooking.

If im using 3 cups of rice, the water would go up to number 3 and so on so.
