"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: WINDOWS/system32/
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup by inserting the original Setup CD-ROM"
I have an eMachines T2825 desktop, and all I got when I first bought it (about 3-4 years ago) was 3 restore CDs.
I put the first one in, and I got these following messages:
"Error:
Cannot open R:/T2825.GHO"
I said ok to that and got this:
"Error:
Cannot open GHOSTERR.TXT"
I said ok to that and got this:
"Application Error 11000:
Invalid dump file
If this problem persists, contact Symantec Technical Support."
I called eMachines tech support (and paid $60 for pretty much nothing) and after transferring me here and there and placing me on hold several times, I didn't get any solutions. One fellow did say that I could replace the hard drive, which would cost, oh about $6,595.
So I'm hoping that someone can just explain to me what all those error messages mean. And does it really seem like I need to replace the hard drive? I got it about 3-4 years ago. I got the same computer fixed last year for a broken fan, and my dad's kinda hesitant about getting it fixed again for something else. Would getting a new computer just be better?
