How Do You Stop A Nosebleed? Help. So much blood. D:

At least once a day.
It's gross.
Nosebleeds in the shower, nosebleeds when I sneeze, nose bleeds when I run into walls.
UGGGGH STUPID BOSEBLEEDS.
So anyways, I was wondering if there are any effective ways of stopping nosebleeds?
I mean, in the short-run, not long term, LOL.
I just go with the classic "shove some tissue up your nostril".
But come'on, there's got to be a better way.
I swear, my nostrils are getting wider because of this. >>'
PLEASE HELP ME. D:
(Yes, I've been to the doctor about this before, NUMEROUS times actually.
Apparently, it's because the blood vessels in my nose are just really fragile. ==;
So there's not much I can do, except drink more water, eat more vegetables... etc.)

Wow you're really lucky.
Yes, it's true, don't tilt your head bad.
I never tilt my head back, unless my nosebleed is REALLY REALLY awful.
I always end up barfing up the blood afterwards. ><'

FusionGT2, thank you for laughing at my misery. So mean. D:
Muchacha, thanks! I'll tell my mom to get some, haha.
Deportedkorean, excessive nose-picking isn't what causes my nosebleeds. But thanks for your concern? ._.,

the most effective place to pinch your nose is right where the cartilage & bone meet; that's where the blood usually originates from...it's almost like holding your nostril(s) completely shut. hold it like that for 5-10 minutes (don't tilt your head back, sit/stand normally), and then see how the blood is. by then it should be kind of congealed, or stopped.
something my grandma taught me, and i proceeded to use on every kid at school that had a nosebleed...wet a paper or cloth towel, wring it semi-dry, and place it on your forehead. you can tilt your head a LITTLE BIT back, but not too much. by the time the towel gets kind of dry/warm, the bleeding should have stopped.
you're probably getting nosebleeds b/c it's too dry...try sleeping with a humidifier on

Be sure to lie down once you get one, and have plenty of wet tissue on hand!

It's better than tissue, since it's more absorbent.

And if you don't want to bother getting it done like that, my boyfriend has been getting them once a month, and he tilts a head back just a bit, not a lot, and then holds the bridge of his nose, for a bit, like 5 minute max, then i would go and get him a warm damped face towel, and he would cover his nose with it, just to make it moist up his nose, it isn't dry.
Also, maybe you shouldn't be running into walls? That would prevent a few of them...lol
Good luck!
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
Even though I really loved you
I'm gonna smile 'cause I deserve to.

LOL
But anyway, I remember having the worst nosebleed ever o_o. It just wouldn't stop, and the blood just kept on running. What you should do is, try not to move around a lot. Sit down on a chair and relax. If the blood is going down your throat, try not to swallow too much because you stomach will feel VERY sick after.
Whoa, that was long ahha. But when I had that huge nosebleed, my parents got worried and called for medical advice over the phone. Thats what they told me to do, and it worked.
edit* lots of nosebleeds occur because your nose is too dry. and if thats the case, just take a q-tip (cotton swab), dip it in vaseline and then swirl it inside your nostrils. Be careful not too poke too deep though =P.
edit#2* after reading other replies, it would probably be best to ignore the part I striked out. I find it safer to trust many others rather than just one person o_o.

lol these days, I usually just use a lot of tissue to put in my nose. I think that's the Korean way? Because I remember going to school with tissue stuffed up in my nose and all the teachers were like "omg what is that?"
