The ENQUIRER broke the story yesterday of Wilson's tragic cry for help. The actor was transported to St. John's hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. on Sunday, August 26, by ambulance.

The ENQUIRER has learned new details about the shocking suicide attempt. Wilson cut both wrists and took an indeterminate amount of pills.

He was discovered by a family member who summoned help. His situation was dire when he was discovered.

Police and an ambulance responded to a 911 call from Owen's house around noon on Sunday.

Owen was brought in to St. John's in very serious condition. Police were on the scene at his house and at the hospital. He was treated and stabilized at St. John's and then transferred by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai medical center. His brothers Andrew and Luke were with him.

Wilson has released a statement saying, "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

When I first read it, I thought it was a lie, since it's the Enquirer and all.
Then all these other reports started popping up from reliable sources.


It's so sad. sad.gif He's such a funny guy and he makes people laugh!
I hope it doesn't have to do with Kate Hudson. sad.gif

He was such a funny actor in all his movies T_T

That's so sad! I love Owen Wilson so much, I would have never guessed something like this would happen... I hope he gets better, and can heal both physically and emotionally!
Poor guy....
Hopefully the media won't give him a hard time. T__T

TOTALLY UNEXPECTED i thought it was one of those crazy stories that the gossip magazines make up but police reports are saying he slashed his wrist and overdosed on pills? I hope he gets better!!

It's sad and totally unexpected, but then i read some where (reliable source) that
it was because of dehydration (sp?)

Glad he's doing well, but i wonder what made him try to commit suicide, if it's true?

OMG. No way...
Him? No way. Okay...maybe. But I don't think anyone expected this from Owen. However, is the National Enquirer even reliable.
Ehr, anyway, hope he gets better. He's a brilliant actor. <3

I thought this was a lie too when I saw it's from the Enquirer.

Omigod, this is heart-breaking. I would have never known, but then again, appearances can be VERY deceiving. =/
