Hey,
I just got a new IBM Thinkpad and I use windows vista.
I was wondering what you all think of vista and I'm also having problems with my camera. I don't know how to get it to work. Do I need another external program? or should there be a program on my computer to open it with? Because the only thing that my computer has..is just about nothing. There's a folder called integrated camera and the only thing inside the folder is uninstall which is definitely not helpful at all O_O...

Thanks for the help!! Any ideas would be appreciated.

There's a vista thread stickied. Read that.

As for the camera, what exactly are you trying to do? Getting the pictures? Installing the software?

I would always recommend using a card reader instead via cable with digital cameras. It's much easier.

Btw, this goes into the help sub-forum.

ohmy.gif *gives credit for a girl who got a thinkpad*

Did you get it with Vista Premium? I know my brother's HP has a built in Webcam and he can use the HP quickplay program to take pictures... but pretty useless since you have a ThinkPad try Start and type in cam or something and see what quick find can find.

Otherwise you CAN try to use like photoshop to capture and a ugly but reasonable method would be to use amcap to capture. The program looks ugly but ehh.. I copied this from my desktop I know I have a different version on my laptop if this doesnt work, I can dig up the other version. http://download.yousendit.com/B29B6AC83D66B8A5

Well I wanted to use the camera to take pictures..But there's no program on my computer that will allow me to do so. Will it just automatically work in conjunction when i open a program that requires a camera? O_O

You can use photoshop to take pictures? O_O..how does that work?

It used to work in XP in photoshop File>Import>camera name
But I know it doesnt show up for my HP camera or logitech camera because I have found that they are cruel.

Click Start and type Capture or camera or video

I honestly dont know how it works for yours but its worth a shot.
