Last night, I downloaded something called Software Distribution Service 3.0. I think it came along with my Norton Antivirus software.
Everything seemed fine until I tried to open up Word tonight, which in this case, gave me this.



I even tried to open up Excel and Powerpoint but I get the same thing. I tried to System Restore but it says that I'm not able to.
I don't know if this is relevant, but I also ran my Disk Defragmenter this morning. Would the problem be because of this?
Can someone help me? School starts soon and I need my Word to work! Thank you!

try to reinstall it. Its probably looking for a file the update broke.

but is there another way to fix this without reinstalling?

Well that thing usually pops up when it needs to update or change some files and typically unless you put in the office disk and it happens to have the files it needs it will just get stuck in that annoying loop.

i don't know if i have a CD that has the installation with Word on it.
i checked all the CDs that came with my computer this morning, but none of them actually have microsoft word or anything.
is there some place where i can get it for free?
