Jaw Spasms When Smiling X___x ....

I think i must be hella weird bcuz whenever I have to smile for the camera like this:

my lip and jaw starts shaking and i cant hold my smile so i end up looking mad >___>....am i jus nervous???? ldjfslkdf i've had this problem since I was little too n it seems like it keeps on getting worse as I get older..X__X anybody else have similar experiences ??

I just pretend I'm laughing at something, just small laugh.
the smile comes out naturally that way.

LOL yea i have that.. oddly =\
never had it before,
I just thought it was because i was holding an odd angle for the smile. if that made sense aha
like.. not smiling my fullest so i'm not use to holding that position of the smile or something.
i hate it >_< it feels sooo wierd but yea,
try to think of something funny when taking a picture, then when you smile it'll be a REAL smile and your lips won't tremor lol

no but i'v ehad jaw lock o-o quite a few times actually it goes away wen i open my mouth... *i have tmj* =(

its not just u, i have it too...

i find it happening to me when i try forcing a smile.

That only happens to me when I've been holding a [teeth baring] smile for too long. Try doing closed smiles? Like, don't show your teeth. If you don't want it to look like you're completely faking, think of something funny or amusing.

yeah that happens when i'm fake smiling for too long, i.e. in interviews

just slowly let your smile down and relax for a few seconds before starting up again

Ahaha, me too!
Usually when I have to hole my smile (with my teeth showing) for a long time, it starts to tremble.
I close my mouth then smile again.
I get conscious of my smile when I have to hold it for so long.

try this: right before the photographer takes the picture, shoot a smile...dont hold it and wait for the photographer to take the picture.

I always do that.... I think the best way is to look away and at the last minute, BAM! hit the camera with a smile

It looks fresh and natural without having to lock your jaw... O___O

Oh I know what you're talking about! I get it sometimes, mostly when I'm pretty tired and I have to hold my smile for whatever reason. But my jaw pops a lot too.

That happened to me in my graduation picture X_x;
Thank goodness it looked good.

I also happens to me when the photographer is too slow in taking shots x_X
If the shakiness happens I would re-do my smile (hope that made sense)

OMG! I thought I was the only one. I thought I had some weird camera-shy disease.

Before taking pictures I'm always thinking in my mind, "Oh gosh, I wonder how this is going to turn out,"
and then I realize I'm holding a really fake smile and I my jaws start trembling.

I hate it when that happens.

yeahh it happens to me too! but then when i smile for too long eventually when they take the picture my smile turns out lopsided becuase my jaw was tired

Maybe it's because it's not a natural smile and so you feel awkward. I have "jaw spasms" too when I smile to take pictures (no matter what my smile looks like) and I look like I'm angry, too.
