Organic Chemistry isn't that hard. As long as you pay attention in lecture and read and do lots of practice problems you should be fine. Esp. if you are a visual learner it shouldn't be a problem, because with Organic, I thought the hardest thing was picturing the 3 dimensional shapes and conformations of the molecules. To me it's like learning about a whole different species of life and how molecules interact with each other. Kind of like studying the interactions of human behavior. It's the best way to put it. And one more thing, if you know the properties of molecules very well, it should be much more easier too esp. when it comes to learning reaction mechanisms. If you need help, most definitely seek it (i can't stress it enough). It will pay off. The time and effort that you put in will surely reflect your grade.

No, it's not a Ph.D, though u do still get the title "Dr." It's a professional degree that's allows you to start practicing right away. The PharmD. is equivalent to an M.D. in Internal Medicine (family clinic doctor). I use to think that I will graduate with a Ph.D but my advisor clarified that for me so yea.

i am an incoming freshman.. n the school im goin to does have a pharmacy program.. like an actual pharmacy school
but is it total of 8 years education to be a pharmacist?
and for the school they recommended that i should take chem and bio for the first year and my school is in a semestre system.. do you think that would be a suicide to take 2 sciences freshman year?
i am registering for my classes next week.. and i am totally lost
like which classes i should take to help me to go to pharmacy schoool...

most pharmacy programs are only 6 years. 2 years of undergrad/pre-requisites along with applying for admissions to pharmacy college/school and taking the PCAT. i understand why you are confused but everything will make more sense when u start school and talk to your academic adviser, counselors, and any academic admission personnel if you are uncertain about anything, because all pharmacy programs are different. i don't know how things are at your school, but at the university i attend, for incoming freshmen, when registering for classes, there's someone that is in the same program that sits there with the student helping them pick their classes.
and about taking chem and bio classes at the same time during your freshmen year, it shouldn't be a problem. the majority of pre-pharmacy students have no choice but to take two sciences at once during a semester, and it's not a problem as long as you use your time wisely. good luck!

it depends on where you transfer to...
you're doing your prerequisites right now in undergrad right?
then you should be transferring to a 4 year program.
unless you want to your "prerequisites" again i don't understand why you would apply to a 6 year program.
you should be done in 6 years.
if pharm was 8, i might as well go to med school.

It takes 2 years to finish all the pre-pharmacy requirements (prequisites?) and to take PCATs? Can you take longer than 2 years?
..So after that, you apply to Pharmacy school and study for 4 years, which is a total of 6 years?
Also, is anyone specializing in Oncology Pharmacy?
I've always wanted to go into the Pharmacy field but also relating to Oncology.
Is it more difficult? Is it harder to find a job as an oncology pharmacist than a regular pharmacist?
Sorry for so many questions ):
But thank you in advance!

love.♥

UOP is one in California that has an accelerated program. USC has some sort of pre-pharm program where you have apply after you get in I think?
UCI does not have pharmacy school.

some schools require pcat but not all...
my school doesn't require it... (I'm going for my Pharm D)
for me you just have to maintain your gpa to their standards so its a piece of cake (i wish)
