I know singing from the throat is bad, but I can't tell when I'm singing from the throat.
Singing with direct chest voice can be bad so most recommend singing with the middle voice, I'm trying to find my middle voice but I think I'm singing from the throat when I try to use middle voice. >_>;
Oh yeah...any suggestions on finding middle voice? XD

Check if you have the LAME MP3 Encoder.
-Just two of the things I could think of right off the bat.
well all the files i'm using vary in bitrate. and i do have LAME mp3 encoder. it's weird cuz my friend can open the files on the same program on another computer. so anyone else have any solutions?

Lol my bad, not the bitrate, the sample rate. For instance, if your sample rate of the program is set to 44100Hz, you won't be able to open something that is in...say...22050Hz.
My bad, lol.

My bad, lol.
lol it's ok. so ya i tried changing the sample rate around. but it doesn't work still. also for some reason i can only change the playback rate when there's a file already opened in the program. does this mean only that file is affected by the playback rate or everythin else opened from then on?
[EDIT] OK LOL I FOUND THE ANSWER TO MY PROBLEM! so apparently u have to make sure that there's no foreign characters in the name of ur file. so basically make sure it's all in english. i think that's y i always had something like an invalid path, cuz it couldnt read the characters. thx though for all ur help!

p.s- are falsettos good or bad? i cant decide if people like them or not :x

I think falsetto is supposed to be bad for your voice, you're supposed to use head voice. Head voice is less airy and more "pure" aka: the voice you use in choir singing.
For pop singing and whatnot I think chest voice and middle voice = ideal. Granted head voice/falsetto is allowed but you don't see many mainstream singers sing their ENTIRE song in head voice/falsetto.
What's best is if you learn how to bridge chest voice, middle voice, and head voice together.
This is just from what I've read from different sites. *_*

ahahaha
Audition is being evil. I can't open certain mp3s. specifically the Anyband instrumentals. They work everywhere else but it saws 'Raw PCM or Unsupported Format' in Audition. I redownloaded TPL a couple of times from different places and finally got it working. But yeah. The other one's still got problems.
any help?

Wow, it seemed like you know a lot about singing after reading your other replies. Between, what's lip bubbles? Is it that "blurb blurb blurb...." sound you made by trembling your lips?

Well, I guess if you use falsetto at the right time and pitch, it'll definitely sound very nice. But of course don't ever ever sing the whole song with falsetto LOL!! Unless you're singing for a choir or opera..

I guess you'll sound really strained if you sing with your throat at those high notes. So I guess you'll know you're using your throat when you sounded strained?
I use to sound super strained but now it's much better so I guess if you keep on practicing, you'll automatically use a bit of your diaphragm when you sing, just a bit...
Try to suck in your stomach when you are reaching middle high or higher notes? That's what I do and I think your voice will sound smoother and thicker.
And don't keep on straining your voice, when you notice your voice became different when you talk after singing, stop for a while like maybe 15 - 20 mins then sing again, you'll sound better.
I'm not sure whether I'm right or not but I think you need to use your diaphragm to produce the middle voice too.
Haha, sorry if you didn't get what I meant, I know I sound really confusing..
I guess you can just sing those higher range notes a lot. Practice those notes a lot, it's okay even if you had to scream out the note, just keep screaming those notes then you'll sound a lot better after sometime. I saw a video of BoA also screaming out the high notes. Even my friend who is a trainee in SM also says SM ask their trainees to just shout of the notes if they can't reach them..
But please don't keep on screaming for hours each day, little by little and take a 15 mins break after maybe 1 or 2 songs, cause your voice will be tired too.
I use to keep on straining my voice and finally, I lost my voice for few days LOL! Then I learned my lesson and start to take it easy.

You must click the "R" that's on the panel next to the track in the multitrack tab. This enables the track to be recorded on. Then you have to select the proper input device. It's usually labelled "[IN]".

yeah i want to know too. uh for me, something preferably from $20-30?

thanks
It doesn't really matter at that budget level. At least I don't think it does. $20 - $30 is gonna get you a headset or a webcam/computer mic, and the brands at that level doesn't really make a difference.
If you're talking actual vocal mics, if you see a good vocal mic for $20 - $30, I will leave you my phone number, mailing address, and credit card number, and you can buy one for me
On a more serious note, mics at that price level are usually just measured in price. A $30 mic will usually be better than the $25 and such. As far as I know, there is no "outstanding" mic in that price range.
If you're really getting into sound and recording mics, you're looking at a $100 minimum.
I personally have a Rode NT1-A. It's a pretty damn good mic I have to say and it was well worth the money. However, Shure is THE brand in the business, and because of that their products are also like two times more expensive than anything else.
But I warn you before hand, some mics need a lot of accessories @_@...and the costs and spending just gets bigger and bigger. >_>

'm finally tired of using my mononous mic that makes my voice sound way too flat and am currently trying to find a karaoke mic that is capable of being plugged into the computer and not a karaoke machine. i have karaoke mics at home that DO NOT plug into pc and only into karaoke machine, but i recently heard a soompier say that they used a karaoke mic and was wondering where i could find one. please help me out as i am newbie when it comes to anything involving technology >_<
and please recommend any freeware that i can record on that is good. i am currently using goldwave...
