I have short breath (Is that what you call it??) I can't do long allibs or long lines. Also rapping. I can't rap too because of my short breath. How can I lengthen my breath so that I could sing better and get longer parts during school perf?? X_x
Sometimes while singing, I took my breath too loudly. As if I chocked or something. Is there any tips to cover this? It's okay if I recorded it cause I could edit/decrease the sound but live?
Thanks in advance for reading~

If you'ee going to be recording in your home, that microphone is too good for your environment. You'll pick up everything and lose what's important. Buy something else and improve on your vocal techniques. 399 on vocal training lessons will be much better than 399 on that microphone.

Yeah the volume control is the soft pre stuff, or if you don't have the soft pre installed, you can adjust the volume in the windows sound option. buzzing sound like in the backround right? or buzzing as in, topping off the volume? if its the backround hum :[ theres nothing you can do about that, how bad is it? cause the co1u has a bit of backround noise... cause it supplies its own power... if its topping off the volume, then you can just lower the volume a bit. the soft pre shows you when the volume peaks, your red meter starts flashing, so try to adjust your volume to a level where it never starts blinking.
For your sm58, are you just plugging it into your sound card? or using an external audio interface? if its into your soundcard, your sound card could be just having latency issues, or your computer's cpu/ram or Hard Drive might be too slow. I'm having the same issues with my recording too;; :[... and its lagging while using the CO1U. i found out that my hard drive is dying on me, so i get alot of corrupted files while recording
I also noobishly mix. So if you need someone to mix, i'll be happy to help out.
Sorry bout that pic guys... someone went onto my account... and put that there...

i guess vibrato warm up would go under the tone category and relaxing your muscles.
this video helps alot actually

you can also work on your breath support, try doing scales with motor lips. put your lips together and make like a motorcycle sound and do your scales.
yes having a cough or tonsillitis will effect your voice and vibrato o_o.

One where I use to sing the low notes and it's how I sound in real life (ver. 1 in vid)
And another where I have to use to reach the high notes (ver. 2 in vid)
So I'm wondering which one is my real singing voice?

(Sorry if I'm off-key lol)
And could someone tell me whether I'm an alto or a soprano? Any other critiques are welcome
Thanks ^^"

Pick up everything? Like what? Your clothing ruffling? The birds outside? The thoughts in your head?
It's an awesome usb mic with some nice features (and no it's not going to pick up everything and lose what's important, unless your house is filled with monkeys). If you have the money, I say go for it.
That being said, I just ordered the Audio Technica AT2020 USB, because I'm not baller. I figure I'll try something different, since everyone and their mom has the C01U and the Snowball.

Wow man comon. that was a solid response. no need to bash him...
hmaster is imo the best mixer on soompi... he knows what he's talking about.
whats the point of an expensive mic if you don't have the acoustics to record at. its like buying an HDTV when you only have basic cable. if you have weird acoustics in your room, the frequencies of your recording is going to be strange, you'll start getting too much or too little low end-hi end. you want to try to record with a dead sound so the mixer can do his work. however i dont think 400 is too steep of a price range of a mic so, if you want it, by all means go for it. but that mic wouldn't be my choice at all if i had to buy something in that range. Why go for a USB mic, when you can get an XLR setup. usb mics arent going to be able to match the quality of a proper recording set up. its mostly geared towards people that need to record with mobility and it wont have the flexibility of normal XLR mics.

gene you're gonna get a digi002?
it should be plug in play with a digi002, make sure your keyboard and stuff have midi outputs and plug it in. and just go through the set up. ask hinsaru if anything, he uses the 003 if im correct.

It also include a XLR connector for flexibility. But I agree that your conventional studio setup can't be replaced with a USB option, but the SE is a pretty good way to cut down on some confusion and simplify an amateur studio.

I mean, I've figured out how to breathe using it - the sides, back, and stomach expand, right?
The thing is, HOW do I incorporate that into my singing? After learning how to breathe and all, how do I learn how to actually SING with my diaphragm? I'm assuming I'm not singing with it because when I put my hand to my throat, I still feel a lot of vibrations. When I put my hand on my diaphragm (or at least, where I THINK it is,) I don't feel any vibrations at all.
Actually, I don't even know if I'm singing right or not. When you lie down and sing, you're supposedly using your diaphragm, right? But when I feel my throat, I STILL feel the vibrations and none in the diaphragm. So... I don't really know if I'm using it or not. I most likely am using my throat voice, but I can't tell the difference anymore. x__x;
So, how do you sing with your diaphragm?
I know there's been answers, but... I'm not getting much out of them. Can anyone elaborate on it? :/
gee i want nobody but you honey cause ah! you're on fire, boy ♥
