It was nowhere near Sin City, or even miles away from 300. Confusing, but thinking about it, the film has a few charming points about it anyway. Just a few.

New Year's Day I was home w/family and parents wanted to see this movie. Went in thinking, "Why not? My parents are paying, and the movie does not seem bad."
But, it was amazing! It wasn't just good. I usually hate these kinds of movies, but the script was unique and beautiful. Very real and coarse, too.

I just saw this movie too and I thought it was good. If the acting had been better I think it would have been even better. I like how it seems like they used actual hmong people (i'm just assuming since when they spoke their language and I didn't hear any strange accents) instead of using just any asian people. It was really really funny too. I think a lot of people can relate to this movie.

I enjoyed it a lot. Surprisingly, it had a great deal more comedy than I expected, i.e. I expected none. I'm really amazed at technology or make-up techniques or whatever these days. Cate Blanchett's skin was so flawless for a good amount of the movie. And on that same note, I was in awe of just how good looking Brad Pitt is. I'm not even kidding---as he kept aging younger, the more I kept thinking "Dang he looks good!" Those shots when he was sailing or riding his motorcycle...Sigh. And it was unbelievable how young he looked at this one particular scene. So so young.

Katherine Hepburn was great in it.
