For regular computer use? For Karoke use? Home recording?
If coughing up $100 isn't a problem, I very much like the Shure SM58, i've used it extensively in theater and performances (I ran a soundboard), and I even recommended for my uncle's Karaoke system and he loves it.
For home recording to a PC, you will need a microphone preamp.
