Hungry, But Wanna Lose Weight? need ideas for meals? come here and share!

I know that there are TONS of threads in this section about what ppl did to lose weight, how many meals they had, etc. But what about the actual food? I mean, you can eat 6 small meals a day, but the food is what counts ultimately.
So I just wanted to start this thread on the food that ppl eat (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack) in order to lose weight. Even dessert can be listed smile.gif
Make sure to note about how many calories the meal has, and the serving size smile.gif

breakfast: I eat Go Lean Crunch--it has TONS of protein and high fiber, and just 190 calories per cup smile.gif I also tend to add granola--I buy the granola at this supermarket called Whole Foods which sell only organic stuff. The granola is 220 calories per 1/2 cup

Good snacks: Wheat Thins!! I tend to go for either the Sun Dried Basil or Harvest ones---130 calories per 15 chips--pretty good smile.gif

Dessert: mango sorbert from haagen daaz (or however you spell it) it's wicked good, and there are very little calories per two-three scoops (can't remember the exact number...)

This is all the food that I like and actually have the calorie amount for right at this moment....I'll add more as time goes on

Please please do list the foods that you have come to like but that are low in calories so that other ppl who want to lose weight can get ideas for meals and snacks smile.gif

Recipes are welcome as well

for snacks I eat this tofu dessert or in chinese : 豆腐花 ( i think xD)
it's healthy and it's only 90 calories per one square container!
oh and i grow baby tomatoes so i love having a few of those for snacks.

for breakfast I just eat wtever fruit there is, mainly bananas, oranges. and brown bread with light cream cheese~

blueberries! i think 1/2 cup was about 50 calories? (or 80 calories? i don't quite remember, but they're really filling, anyway.)

lately i've been eating a lot of rice cakes, too ~ chinese brand "uncle pop", peanut flavored. ~50 calories each, i like them a lot (:

almonds, also, are high calorie and very fatty, but they are very filling. if i eat a few for breakfast, i can last until past noon before feeling hunger.

rice cakes are good for snacks and so is south beach diet jello. it only has 10 calories and it's just as yummy (it actually tastes exactly the same) as regular jello.

Hmmm.....I have a feeling that this might get moved to the Food forum. But while I'm here, when I get hungry I snack on Luna bars or Wheat Thins. They taste so good!

fruit cut into bite sized pieces.

i have never heard of anyone getting fat from fruit. seriously. People think that bananas are a fat fruit... not really. It's healthy energy. Your body losses it well. Not as fat as a small McDolnalds fries. Bananas may be fatter than the other fruits, but not enough to make you GAIN pounds.

a tip to have control of your portions: put everything into a small bowl that measures about 1 cup.

If you eat from the bag, you don't know how much you're eating, and when you are going to stop (probably when you finish the bag!) Those 100 cal bags are good too.

another tip:
Don't peel your apples! wash them and keep the skin! There are precious nutrients and fiber in the skin!

one last tip: POPCORN is the best snack ever. Make sure it's unsalted, no butter, sugar etc. the 100% plain ones

i eat apples and lemon grass o_o that really fills me up =o=

=O or a cup of coffe or a sugar free energy drink happy.gif i'm so unhealthy

alsooo o_o any type of fruit some peanut butter and bread o_O

thats what i've been eating besides plums and mayeb soem beef jerky ocne in a while

any raw fruit or vegetables are always good for you. a lot of them have tons of fiber which fills you up and just trying to digest them burns calories... i think.

When I have them at home, those Healthy Choice Chocolate Ice Cream bars are THEE bomb. They're so good, it's a pretty nice portion, and they're only 90 calories! WOOT. wink.gif

ello! i Must contribute!

clementinez are really filling and you can buy those big boxes of them. plus theyr mostly seedless and very yummy. happy.gif around my townhouse complex every house has at least 3 guava bushes in front and we just pick them off. they are SO good and perfect 4 snackz. if u wanna drink that tastes good, then drink the diet Arizona green tea. it doesnt really taste like green tea, and it tastes AMAZING and it has no calories [whoot] no fat [whoot again] and less than 1 gram of sugar! [major whoot] most diet thingz hav low caloriez and fat, but hi sugar which will make u fat, but this has very little suga cuz its sweetened with honey and splenda, i tink. mi friend also recommends hansens if you want a lo fat soda. ;D tatz all i got 4 now. i'll come back 4 more!

BACK, but lazier than ever. xD

you guys do know that calories arent the only thing you should be worried about if trying to lose weight? somebody mentioned that a rice cake was only 90 calories. rice = empty carbs = pure fat.

mix 1 cup dry cereal (like special k or muesli), 1 tbl spoon raisins and it's a small trail mix under 100 cal.

i eat it at school all the time.

Well... there is only so healthy chips, cookies, icecream, all that crap can be made... eating a 100 calorie pack of anything is a waste of time, its worthless, you are just eating a handful of something you shouldn't be eating!

Dairy, Meat, Sugar, it is all just going to make you gain weight, try eating healthy foods, no matter how bad you might think a certain fruit or veggie is, it is a million times better for your body than a bunch of processed sugary junk!

Cherries! eat every one of them slowly and then try tying the stem into a knot (I can do it now, after doing it with every single cherry I ate in a bowl)
It's fun, takes your mind off eating, and the cherries are really good.

seaweed is 10cal/sheet. Yum~
I eat apples and tangerines a lot ^O^ they're yummy and apples are filling because you have to chomp a lot. White peaches, too, and watermelon, if you suck the water out of each piece.

coffee has little calories too (no, not the Starbucks frappuchinos or mocha latte or those fatty syrupy drinks)
REAL coffee.

If you like Coke, Coke Zero is alrite. 10000x better than diet Coke but it leaves a rather yucky aftertaste T_T if you're serious about losing weight, cut the soda out completely.
