okay, i know i'm really late on this but overall, i'm not a gamer. both product aren't exactly "new new" but they were the only two that i would consider buying.

which one would be better for me?

i want something to keep me busy while on a 22 hour flight.
i'm not willing to pay over $200 (sorry, i have tons of other things to pay for now).
i really don't know much about video games, ect. so i need a device that has easy or universal type games.

i checked prices and the dslite is $130 while the psp is $170.
help please? share your review of the product tongue.gif

DS Lite would be best for you with the Brain Age 2 and Picross... that might hold you off for 22 hours lol...

DS Lite (On lowest light setting). The PSP won't last the entire 22 hours for the flight (Maybe 3-6 depending on what you do with it). The DS Lite won't either, but it'll probably get you near 15-19 hours of continuous play

DS Lite plus R4 and 1GB MicroSD = $130 + $40 + $15 = $185

PSP plus 2GB Memory Stick and Per Game (Unless you get the right firmware version and are able to downgrade) = $170 + $40 + $40 = $250

To tell the truth i like both of them.
But I like psp cause the fact u can put videos and also download games into there lol.
DS is pretty fun but then there is satisfying games i guess.
PSP= Good graphics DS= Fun fun but then ya.... lmao.

I rather advice the Ds, I've been a Nintendo fan for quite a short time, as soon as I tried both PSP and PS3...omg never again oO
To be more objective, it totally depends on if you're looking for cutey games (like animal crossing) or advanced graphisms and sounds...for sure, the DS price is more attractive.

get both! haha, but in all actuality, they are both fun in my opinion. The psp has an awesome homebrew scene! Where, the DS is mediocre at best. The DS has a lot more games I would typically play, like your typical nintendo games (i.e. mario, harvest moon, metroid, etc, etc). The PSP's graphics are far superior to the DS in my opinion, but yeah battery life probably wouldn't be as great. Just look at the game scene you want to get into, what type of games you like, and then just buy that one. I wish i had a DS lite but i still just rock the old school Nintendo DS!

If you have the R4 and 1GB MicroSD, you can download games for free off the internet and put it in the card. Saves space (since then, you wont have to carry all the different cartridges) and money. Haha. Just check the Nintendo Ds Thread and backtrack a few pages. There should be some info. smile.gif

Yup, R4 and MSD is the way to go.

You made a good purchase - DS's last a lot longer that PSPs so you'll survive your 22 hour flight, leaving enough hours for you to sleep as well.

You already got one, but DS is definitely the way to go for a person of your tastes. As `ANITA already mentioned, the R4 w/ 1gb MicroSD Memory Card (required) is used so that you can download NDS games off the internet and onto the MicroSD and play them no hassle on the DS. Literally after 3 downloads you're basically paid off haha.

And I'm personally a PSP person. I love that sucker. You can't go wrong with NES, GBC, GBA, SEGA, SNES, PS1, Internet, mp3, etc. all in one system. =]. The difference between PSP and DS homebrew is that the DS is really only limited to just NDS games and a few other apps, while the PSP (with the help of a few hacks here and there) is open to play not only PSP Games (ISO format), but also the above mentioned and more. It really is a powerful system but battery life is killer. My battery used to last a little more than a day without charging...now it lasts only about 6-8 hours of just mp3 usage.

I'd go for the Nintendo DS. More variations with the games, adventure, horror, action, humor, etc.

The Sony Portable has most Role Playing games, as in, action, shooting and racing xD

i think before i actually buy any more games, i'll get the r4 ect first
and i found out they don't sell it at 'major' stores (best buy) so i gotta go hunting for an asian store that sell it today --'
i think i'm also getting the web browser add on for the ds so i can go online on it tongue.gif
i'm going to thailand/vietnam/mainlandchina
i'm starting college in the spring ~ ga state
