There are cases that even male koreans that came from or grew up at other countries go to Korea just to visit their home country but have their family's name on the list had to stay to serve the army. There is no war but i think it was an effect/result of the korean war in the 1950's. if you dont want to go to the army, have a tattoo coz they say tattooes are a no-no in the army. so i think Junjin of shinhwa who has a tattoo (i'm not sure about the tattoo thing but i saw he has one) doesnt have to go the army as well as Taebin of 1tym.

back to the topic. i'm new here on this thread and it took me 3 days to scan over 112 pages of this thread. but it's worth it. my last vist was yesterday and from page 113 it grew to page 116... man!! that's fast.

what i dont get is that i heard that you only need to go to the army at a certain age, and how come they all have to go with shinhwa and all? they are all the same age? well, if the tattoo fact was true..they can all go get the stick ons...hahaha..sorry..yea..but im actually looking forward to our ns..though its only 3 months long here..ehehe

Well, if you have an American passport, you don't need to join the army.
Cause my korean friend, I asked him, and he said he doesn't have too cause he's an American citizen.
