So what are they? I'm looking into buying some prep books for the tests, but I want to make sure that I get good books.

Share which books you think are best and why, and what score(s) you got on the tests.

Thanks!!

Looking into purchasing:
- The Princeton Review: Cracking the ACT
- Barron's ACT 2007-2008
- The Princeton Review: Cracking the SAT
- Barron's SAT

Barron books are quite good because they over prepare you.
I haven't taken the SATs yet, but doing practices in the Barron books has helped improve my scores when doing practice tests.

^Thanks for the recommendation! I've also asked around and many people are recommending Barron's because it seems the PR has a lot of mistakes...
I'll study with them and come back here to do a review.

Princeton Review is okay... but I like Barron's because the problems helped me prepare the most. Some of the questions are a lot harder than the actual test questions so you become really prepared. It's kind of a discouraging book but it's worth it? biggrin.gif

Princeton Review 11 Practice Tests for the SAT is really good if you want explanations for what you did wrong

I had the PR one with all the SAT tests. I felt the answers were pretty inaccurate and it wasn't close to the real thing at all. I would DEFINITELY recommend that you get the Collegeboard blue book. After doing all the tests, I got a 2380 on the actual test. Using the PR, I only got a 2250 the first time. IMO, Barron's is too hard. It just stresses you out too much.

For me, Barron's was waaay to hard & it also scared the sh!t out of me cus I did so badly on the practice tests.
I used the Kaplan SAT & ACT books most often.
You should ask your counselor if he/she has a copy of a sample test cus those are pretty close to the real ones.

when i went to hagwon for SAT
the professor recommended to use the blue collegeboard one if you want to see how it really is because it is the closest to the real one
but during hagwon we used the Barron.. and i think in 5 weeks it raised my score ALOT smile.gif
