Im asking this because I noticed between my parents that one would try to beat the yellow light so she wouldn't get stuck at the red. And the other would slow down and wait.

the first question to ask is: how far are you and what's your speed?

if you're quite close, you have to pick up speed and go past the traffic light even if it turns red right when you're nearing it because braking suddenly will cause the person behind you to well... drive right into you *flinch* and that's not soo good ><!!

if you're quite far and relatively slowwww... I suggest the brakes ^0^!!

Actually it depends on my speed, if I can break without the after-shook (sorry, don't know what it's called), I'll stop. If I know I can't stop without it, I'll keep going. Usually, I've noticed, I go.

I just hate it when the lights just green and there's others cars waiting to go in the other directions and you're waiting for your light to turn yellow but it never happens and then it happens right when you have enough space to slow down but you don't...rule of thumb...if you're already past the line when it's still yellow and then it turns red...then you're technically clear haha.

well for me it depends on how fast i'm already going. i calculate how far away i am from the light and then decide to beat it or not. but ever since i got my ticket from one of those cameras running the red light, i try to slow down now. lol but i dont always go through with it and thank buddha that the cameras aren't there to take a pic of my car.

it depends on the distance u are from the lights when u saw the yellow light. if i'm not too far i'll speed up, and if i'm still quite far, i'll slow down... it's how u judge and gauge ur distance as well...
