What is Love?
Chapter 5
The doorbell rang. Chae Yeon looked to see who was at the door…. As expected, it was her close friend Park Kyung Lim. Chae Yeon had invited Kyung Lim over to her place, two days ago. “Hey!” greeted Kyung Lim. “Hi, Kyung Lim. How are you?” asked Chae Yeon. Kyung Lim came in with a bunch of food. “Good. How are things going with you and Brian?” Kyung Lim asked. “Great!” answered Chae Yeon, as she helped put the food out on the table. “You know, to be honest, you two are dating longer than I expected,” said Kyung Lim. “I know….” said Chae Yeon, “Before when we were just friends, Brian was such a goofball, I wasn’t sure if dating him would be a good idea,” Chae Yeon continued, “I wasn’t sure if this would last, but he’s changed a lot now, and we’re both really happy.” Kyung Lim smiled, “That’s so sweet how he changed for you. I think you’re the longest girlfriend he has had so far. He was such a player before.” Chae Yeon looked at Kyung Lim, “Oh come on, he wasn’t a player,” said Chae Yeon, “Besides, he’s really different now...”
Chae Yeon then looked at all of the food Kyung Lim had brought. “Have you come to torture me?” asked Chae Yeon as she saw the food, “You know I’m suppose to be on a strict diet. If Joon Kyu saw this he would kill us!” Kyung Lim looked at Chae Yeon, “I brought all this food so you can get some energy. I can tell they’re overworking you. You look so pale and tired….” said Kyung Lim. “Well… you should have brought low-fat and healthy foods. I can’t eat this kind of food when I’m on a diet,” said Chae Yeon. “Fine, I’ll eat it all, you can just sit and watch.” Kyung Lim started to stuff some of the food in her mouth. Chae Yeon laughed. “Hey, don’t eat it all! I want some… I’ll eat just a little of everything,” compromised Chae Yeon.
“… Ok bye, I love you too.” Hye Bin hung up her phone and smiled to herself. Ever since Yunho bought her the couple ring, he really had paid more attention to her. Even though they couldn’t spend as much time together as she would have liked, he had remembered to call her almost everyday and text messaged her often. “I should thank Chae Yeon for talking to Yunho for me,” Hye Bin thought. Hye Bin started to call Chae Yeon, “Hey Chae Yeon, its me! What are you doing?” Chae Yeon’s voice sounded a little husky, “Oh, you called just at the right time. I just finished a long recording session...” “Wow, you sound so worn out, don’t overwork yourself,” said Bin. “Oh, I’m fine… You know today, Kyung Lim came over to my place. You should have came too,” said Chae Yeon. “Well, I don’t know Kyung Lim to well…” replied Bin, “But we really should hang out sometime, go shopping or something. Then again, you are so busy these days.” Chae Yeon sighed. “I know, my manager and company are making me work my butt off,” said Chae Yeon. “How about you? Are you doing anything else besides ‘Heroine 6’?” asked Chae Yeon. “Not really,” replied Hye Bin, “I’ve been resting these days… I actually called to thank you for talking to Yunho.” “Oh, no problem…” said Chae Yeon, “Actually Yunho already thanked me.” Hye Bin paused for a second. “He did?” asked Hye Bin, “he called you?” Chae Yeon laughed. “No, Yunho doesn’t even have my number! I ran into him in Kang Ho Dong’s wedding.” Hye Bin laughed. “Oh, I see” said Hye Bin, “I should have figured…” “Look I have to go,” said Chae Yeon, “I’m suppose to meet Brian today right after my recording session was over, but it ran a little over time, so I’m kinda late.” “But you sound so worn out, shouldn’t you rest?” asked Hye Bin. “I know, but I haven’t seen him all week…" explained Chae Yeon, "Talk to you later!” click.
Chae Yeon rushed to her car, and drove quickly to arrive at the club, where they were suppose to meet. She had a hat on, but was afraid someone might still recognize her. “Why did Brian want to meet here out of all places?” Chae Yeon thought. Chae Yeon hoped Brian didn't leave already because she was actually quite late. Then to her horror, she spotted Brian and he was flirting with a bunch of tall girls that must have been models at another table.
