Examples Of Unification In History HELP (homework)

I need an example of unification in history where there were two different groups of people, with separate names, who unite under a whole new name
it doesnt matter what time period it's from
i would REALLY appreciate your help

would vietnam count?
cause north vietnam & south vietnam were separate...

Egypt.

Egypt was originally divided into Lower Egypt (the north) and Upper Egypt (the south). The unification of the country didn't occur until around 2000 B.C.

east and west berlin after the fall of the berlin wall

i guess you could say america during the civil rights movement
although, there are still some racial issues in the country today.
you can talk about brown v board of education
and the supreme court's decision to call segregation unconstitutional
so in a sense, america became a more united country
there are a variety of examples for this one
