After finishing a series of Harry Potter books, I have been looking for another good book to read. I came across this book because I am a huge fan of Rachel McAdams. I found out that she will star with Eric Bana (hottie!) in a movie called The Time Traveler's Wife, an adaptation of a novel by Audrey Niffenegger. I'm currently on page 136 (out of 540). So far I like it a lot. I can't wait to see the movie next year! Since I don't have a book club in my area, I thought it would be nice to have a discussion online with fellow Soompiers!
It's a story mixed with romance, innocence, mystery and science fiction. I have shed a couple of tears already...
The book reads in Henry and Clare's narration throughout his time traveling experience.
Here is the summary from the book:
"A most untraditional love story, this is the celebrated tale of Henry DeTamble, a dashing, adventuresome librarian who involuntarily travels through time, and Clare Abshire, an artist whose life takes a natural sequential course. Henry and Clare's passionate affair endures across a sea of time and captures them in an impossibly romantic trap that tests the strength of fate and basks in the bonds of love."
You can also read more reviews from readers at amazon.com or other sites. The book is available in paperback.
I would rate the book as PG-13.
