Put on your seatbelt and take the car back to where it got fixed?

What switches are you looking for? Usually warning lights don't turn on randomly for no reason.... well at least your car possibly shouldn't.

Well, first of all... WEAR YOUR SEATBELT! It is against the law to drive without it. Easy fit for that.

As for the maintenance light, look in your manual. If it isn't there, try calling the dealer or look at another forum for answers. Hopefully someone here knows.

you guys are funny, why wouldn't i drive without my seat belt duh!?
okay well, here's the sit.

my nephew loves riding around in my car, but the punk keeps spillin soda into the seatbelt latch and all over my car. i flushed with with water a couple of times, cause before that, it would be supa sticky inside and it wouldn't latch. now it latches and the stupid seat belt light comes on. does that signify a problem?
my brother in law says there's a switch for the seatbelt light somewhere, but he doesn't have time to look for it since him and his pinkberry ass wife always be arguin...so i gotta look for it myself and...damn i get frustrated quickly...

so i just wanna know, is there a switch for it and if there is, where do i find it

Method #1
Turn the key to the II position (but not to III, or START)
Turn the key to the 0 (OFF) position, then push -- and hold -- the odometer reset button
Turn the key back to the II position, while still holding the button
After about 10-15 seconds, the light should go off
Release button and turn key to 0.

Method #2
Keys out of the ignition
Push and hold down the odometer Select and Reset buttons
While holding them down, put your keys in and turn the key to II but not to III (START)
The light blinks once. Wait about another 5-15 seconds and the light will then turn off
Release the two buttons
Turn ignition back to 0 (OFF)
Start car as normal.

It worked with my cousins 1998 Honda Accord V6.

well, you'd better take your car to a repairshop to get ur seatbelt latch and mechanism fix.

if it doesn't want to latch properly, next time when you are collided w/ other car, you'll be ejected, hit ur head on the windshield, thrown out of the car, and died instantly.

You will probably need a new seatbelt latch. Inside the latch is a microswitch, which is triggered when the seatbelt is inserted into the latch. Apparently dirt or especially liquids can ruin that internal switch, causing it to no longer function properly.

If you really are the type who doesn't give a crap about the seat belt warning light (because you know to always put it on), then what you can do is bridge the wires that lead up to the latch, cut them and tie them together, and the car will always think you have your seatbelt on. This is done at your own risk, because if you are not wearing your seatbelt and you crash your car, the airbag system will not recieve the correct information to fire or not fire the airbag (multi stage airbags).

If it were me, just replace the latch, look for a replacement (used should be okay for this purpose) from ebay first, before heading to the dealer.
