well when I first got my contacts. They recommended soft acuvue contacts =)
One pair costs about 13 something? And my first eye check was about $70. At sams!

i use acuvue oasys
have used it for 2 years?
and ordering a years supply soon
umm well without the cost of going to the optometrist and stuff but just the lenses
it depends cause sometimes the have sales or something like $50 rebate ect.
but like $100-200ish? idk my parents order them so im not too sure

they are very comfortable and at few i would forget tht i even had them in and slept with them in which is ok cause its like fda approved tht u can sleep in them but not recommended to do so a lot cause in the morning (erm well at my eyes) get dry
i change mine every 2 weeks or every month it depends sometimes they start to irriate me before the month is over so i have to switch them but sometimes i can wear them for a month but it think ur supposed to wear them for 2 weeks? idk but my optometrist wear them too so i guess thts a sign tht they r good?

hope this helps!
at first my parents didnt want me to
but glasses were always annoying and a hassle for me since ive had them since 2nd grade except probably started wearing them daily in like 3rd? but its useful to have glasses to even if u do get contacts......

the actual eye test to get ur prescription and like ur eye size err w.e costs like 70-100? idk i got mine at sams club the first time then walmart i thinkkk walmart was a little cheaper?? a box is like um $20-30? or was it like 15? sry i cant remember but a box has 6 lenses = 3 pairs

My first and favorite brand of contacts is Acuvue with hydraclear. It is the MOST comfortable thing EVERRR. I love itt. [: The Acuvue colors aren't too bad either.

Price wise, if you go to sam's club, a box of clear contacts from there ranges from 13-20 dollars. Each box has 6 lens.
Colored contacts, at sam's club, $26 a box.

Just a heads up, if you plan to get coloured contacts and you have astigmatism...it only goes up to -4.00 which sucks

Any ways i switched between 2 brands of lenses, i went from Coppter Tone Torric lenses to Acuve Oyasis. A set was about 170? and i got a 50$ rebate

I think it's best to talk to your optomertrist about contacts since they know about your eyes better than any one else.

i have Bausch and Lomb monthlies. i got a year supply from my optometrist's office. my doctor recommended it for me with Optifree disinfecting solution and Blink eye drops. in total for everything was about $500. including 7 boxes of Blink eye drops... 6 Optifree disinfecting solution.. 3 travel sizes of that and 6 contact containers.. plus my contacts. my vision isn't bad about -1.00 to -1.50 and the contacts are really conformable, sometimes i forget to take them out since i don't feel them in... the first couple of minutes you know it's in your eye but after a while you just forget that they're on. i don't even use my eye drops. happy.gif

Definitely get disposables! I had annual vials for the first 3 years... and man it really sucked when I lost/ripped a contact. Then I switched to Acuvue 2 soft lenses, and they're pretty comfortable. smile.gif They're technically weekly disposables, but I wear each pair for a month. So I bought a 6 month's supply, and they lasted me 2 years! I saved a lot of money hehe. smile.gif

Get a good optometrist though! My first guy was an independent and the second guy was at Lenscrafters; they were both super-expensive, and they both prescribed annual vials with BC 8.6 for me, which moved around a lot and hurt my eyes. I found this out when I went to get an eye exam at Sears (~$50!), and he noticed that my contacts didn't fit well. He prescribed BC 8.3 and disposable contacts for me. Now I rarely get dry eyes, even when I wear my contacts for 12+ hours or sleep with them in.

its about $300-370 a year

If you live around LA, I could recom. a place for you if you'd like. The optometrist at eyewear store knows his stuff and is very friendly. The prices aren't bad either.

And no, I don't work there. wink.gif

I got Acuvue 2 w/ Hydraclear, it works great biggrin.gif But then it's also really expensive because my vision is horrible.
But I have glasses too, and I love my glasses. You just have to find the right frame that matchs your face.

Acuvue 2 with Hydraclear (disposable every 2 weeks) (: It seems popular here, haha! They're comfy and never irritate my eyes unless I've had like ... an hour's sleep T^T
Acuvue Oasys is MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE (but also more expensive). I had them for a while and I didn't notice the difference between Oasys and Hydraclear, but when I went BACK to Hydraclear .... wow. mellow.gif haha! They're fine too, though =)
4 years of glasses? O_O wow. I had my glasses for about 2 years before getting contact lenses, and I was only 13~14, too xD

just go to talk to an optomertrist... you've had glasses so you should know the price for a check up... it costs about 50-60 $ where i live...

i tried monthly contact lenses at the beginning... but it was kind of annoying to take them out and keep them... im clumsy when it comes to keeping contact lenses... so im buying daily contact lenses... take them on in the morning and throw them in the garbage when your done with them... and i got a few color contact lenses too, which are monthly...

contact lenses costs more than having glasses but its way better example if its raining your glasses wont fog up... and its also easier not to use glasses while doing sports...

i only use glasses while studying with lots of people, the glasses i've got kind of gives me a more sexy and nerdy (the cute way) look... anyone else using glasses for that purpose btw? rolleyes.gif

my daily contact lenses costs 66$ more or less... a daily pack of 90 lenses (1,5 month)...
so half a year those costs about 250 $....
if i remember correctly the montly contact lenses without colors costs about 70-80 $ for a half year... not sure since its been a while... the one with the colors costs more...

maybe your parents said no because its so expensive? just ask them to buy you monthly lenses without color for the time being... the prices might not be the same btw, so go to an optomertrist and ask there...

Laugh and the world laughs with you, Cry and your mascara runs!
ps: would be great if i could have a copy of dbsk-you're my miracle, piano sheet, if anyone out there has it..

I've got Freshlook lens which I prefer over Acuvue hydraclear because it breathes more.

I got my first box of contacts when I was 13 years old biggrin.gif
My optomistrist first gave a different brands to try on, to see which ones were most comfortable.
My first trial pair was a distaster....my eyes were sore and red all the time when i wore them.

Now I'm with Acuvue ^___^
Not sure about the exact price but it differs....if you buy, say, a 30 box set then it would be $80?
A 60 box set of contacts would cost more obviously

1800contacts.com is the best place to go for good deals on contact lenses! And for the one-month disposable lenses, you can actually wear them for over a month(1.5 months) if you rub your lenses during cleaning smile.gif

hmm ive been using it for about 3 years. i honestly dont know which brand i use.. i just get them from my optometrist. I wear the 2 weeks disposable ones and they cost me about 150$AUD and lasts for about 2 months. Theyre worth it tho. Its actually kinnda painful sometimes when u use it coz it gets dry really really easily. also MUST BE CLEAN! uhmm.. in the begining it may be frustrating but keep at it!! it doesnt feel like anything

personally, i found acuvue oasys really comfortable, also O2 optix is comfortable but doesnt last for the expected time.
but im so over normal lenses, are you considering circle lenses? freshkon alluring eyes is very comfortable as compared
to tutti circle lenses and colorvue big eyes. this is all just my opinion though so check out other peoples =]
