Applying Early Action benefits?

I'm a senior this year and i already feel the pressure of college apps kicking in. I always planned on applying Single Choice Early Action to my top (reach) choice, but the deadline is REALLY soon (Oct 15th). my schedule is COMPLETELY packed with tennis (fall season), sats, ap classes, clubs, musical instrument, etc etc which gives me barely any time to work on my application. is early action significantly beneficial in the application process? i know that those who apply are all top qualifiers, but im really reconsidering applying early action because i dont think i'll be completely satisfied with how my application turns out with so little time. any advice?

i don't know about your school, but the school i'm applying to early action (school of visual arts in NY if you're curious) says i get guaranteed housing if accepted.

early action applicants usually are given priority to stuff like housing, but then most schools provide housing for all freshmen. there really isn't any difference between regular and early action. early action people are just usually students whose top choice is that school or they're ready to apply. i'm applying early action to all of my private schools only because i recieve notice of whether i get accepted into the school or not by january, instead of the normal march ones. some schools also allow you to reapply if you don't get in through early action, so yeahh.

the acceptance rate for EA and ED applicants is higher than for RD applicants. however, if you're not going to have a strong app for EA, i'd just want until RD so that you can actually focus on writing good essays and short answer responses.

Since my question is mostly the same, I guess I can just ask it in this thread.
How much of financial aid benefits do you get with EA? I mean, I'm pretty set on which school I want to attend, but I will probably have a lot of loans to take care of if I do go there. But, it is the school I really want to go to. So, if I get accepted, do I get first priority on scholarships also?
(FYI, I know I can get in, its just financial aid I am worrying about)

DANG. What school's SCEA deadline is oct 15? My earliest is oct 31 and I thought that was early.
Not sure about SCEA, but usually EA doesn't have much affect on admissions. I was looking at statistics, and %-wise EA and RD acceptance rates are pretty similar. At Georgetown RD rates of acceptance are actually higher for some programs than EA.
Now, ED is a whole different story. The problem with ED is you HAVE to go to that school regardless of your FA package.
For most schools you get whatever money they have when you file your financial aid documents (fafsa, ccs, etc.) so do those quickly.
