you could something about how the standard english language is taking over (get stats & see how many people in the world speak english) traditions/ culture....for ex., some people that start speaking tend to (sometimes) forget their language...when i was younger, i used to be alot better at korean than i am now...i think it really has to do with the influence of english

Where are you located?
If you are in the US, I cannot really imagine how learning english could be a con, but just for you, here is one really really bad idea, that was tried out on my class when we were kids.
They decided that the english language, especially learning spelling and grammer, would kill a childs creativity. Basically they didn't allow us to learn to write, I could read already from the time I was 4 but I never learned to write because they told us you can just spell and write how you think things should be spelt and written, so that was really bad... I still misspell so much stuff because I lost those critical years in school, after 2 years of that I got moved to a different school, lol.
So you could take a stance like that maybe?

If you're talking about in a non-English speaking country, you could ask something like, why is it that the native has to learn English to speak with the English-speaking person and not the other way around? Why not use translators (for really important things) so each side can express themself fully, because even if you know English pretty well as a second language sometimes it happens that you still would be able to express yourself better in your native language.
Also, some countries don't actually need English. Some people will never leave their own country and use English.
If the other side talk about how it's good to learn a different language (for non-English speakers), ask why English and not some other language.
And the ones already mentioned are good too.
