QWERTY phones are seriously limited. You should go in training texting with a normal numpad.. my brother in the philippines can text really fast without even looking at his phone.. it's creepy lol..

What is GSM?
GSM is a type of radio frequency used in cell phones. There are a lot of different bands used in different countries. For example, in the USA, T-mobile uses GSM 1900 band while AT&T uses both 850 and 1900 bands. Then there are Canadian carriers and European carriers that use GSM, but in Europe, they use GSM 900 and 1800. This could go on forever, but this is a FAQ, so if you want to learn more. Visit wikipedia.
What is CDMA?
CDMA is also a type of radio frequency used in cell phones, but are different than GSM. They don't have different bands like GSM does, but they do have different types like WCDMA, which is used in Asia, and regular CDMA in America. Visit wikipedia for more.

There are 2 different forms the qwerty phones come in. (1) Something similar to the Sidekick and the Helio Ocean and (2) smart phones like the Dash. Which type do you really want? If it's the first type, then you're going to have a tough time finding a phone. The only other phone that has not been mentioned and is out right now is the T-Mobile Wing. You can check out the reviews and pictures from google. It's the only other phone I can suggest if you want that type of qwerty keyboard on a phone. If you want the second option, then every carrier will have that type of phone, but it's not recommend for people with big fingers.
You could get an unlocked phone that has the same qwerty style as the T-Mobile Wing, but it's really expensive. The company is called HTC, which also created the Wing, and the prices are way over your budget. You could get the Wing for under $100, but you would need you extend your contract. I can send you a link on how if you're interested.
For Korean phones, they are way over your budget. From what I've read around here. The phones are about $300+ with contract.
I hope this helped.
P.S. There are ALWAYS good phones coming out every year or season, so you don't really want to wait for it. That's how technology works.

There's one way to find out. Go find the store. I hear it's in K-town if that even helps since I've never gone there myself.
