Regarding hair loss, pretty much same concept, that's why alot of people have to try different shampoos until they find one suitable for them. The headaches might just be caused due to wet hair. Sometimes during winter when I don't blow dry my hair and I walk outside with it still damp, it hurts...=.=''

using a lot of shampoo will make the hair lose its natural oil so its better to just wash your hair with water once in a while and not use so much hair products

but it will cause damage to the hair itself like what the people said above.
Here's a little suggestion though; maybe you can skip the shampoo on weekends when you don't have school or any rigorous activities.

something important that i think i should share with you!
Im super excited as to post this information i researched
because i lived on campus (for personal reasons) and wondering why my hair was falling out
NOW I KNOW WHY, it's because i listen to ppl who said not washing your hair is good for you.
My hair started to fall out ALOT to the point i notice in pictures my hairline raised!
If you don't wash your hair it can contribute to the excretion and accumulation of sebum and oil on your hair. Sebum is a waxy substance that is secreted by the sebaceous glands in your skin onto hair follicles. Overtime, sebum can react with cholesterol to create a hardened sebum plug that cuts off oxygen circulation to the hair follicles and cause it to fall out. Sebum plug can also accumulate dirt and become a breeding ground for bacteria and contributing to hair loss.

Er. So exactly how long did you go without washing your hair?
Call me a skeptic, but I doubt that this will happen if you wash your hair every other day, or even every three days. Then again I guess it depends on the individual.
Washing your hair every day can actually be bad for you. But so many people nowadays are so germaphobic and dirt-o-phobic that they don't realize. Your hair creates natural oils for a reason, and washing it every day can dry out your hair, damage it, and yes, it can make it fall out more often since shampoos have a lot of crazy chemicals in it.
I wash my hair every other day because my hair gets dried out if I do every day. Plus, I simply don't have enough time to take showers every single day. Not to mention the shampoo I use lasts twice as long this way, just another plus. It's really not a big deal and I never understand why people think it's "unclean." I don't sweat too much or go rolling around in the dirt, so I think I'm good.
But of course, if you want to wash your hair every day and you don't have any adverse effects, knock yourself out!

my step dad heard this thing on the radio where you don't wash your hair with shampoo and just water and your hair will just become normal after looking ugly for a few weeks. it worked for him, except for a couple of weeks his hair looked really gross.

I have to wash my hair everyday or else it gets oily... like really oily. I've tried some salon suggested shampoos (that are less acidic), but they ended up making my hair feel even oilier and required me to take a shower more frequently (i.e. didn't last 24 hours). All my friends wash their hair every two days and even on the 2nd day their hair doesn't look near as oil-ridden as my hair after a single day. I've tried to naturally trigger my oil glands to reduce the amount of oil its producing (by painfully not showering for 3 days), but the result was awful. I've gone back to my shower a day routine and nothing really seems to be working. :c
Also, I don't know if having thin vs. thick hair has anything to do with oil over-production.
I have relatively thin hair in comparison to my shampoo every other day friends.
I personally feel it's easier for thin hair to appear oily in comparison to thicker hair.

Sometimes after fresh dye jobs, I'll go two days without washing. My hair doesn't get gross very quickly so it's not too bad...just...shower the rest of you >.> or else you'll get icky haha.

And, to answer the question of what shampoo I use, I use garnier fructis, although I can vouch for sunsilk's effectiveness. ;D

I started using it recently and it really straightened out my oil issues (for my face too). Jojoba oil is good for everywhere, not just your hair.

You should worry about your hair (and your health) when it comes out in clumps and leave patches.
@dehoot: If you want to wash your hair everyday but want to try and avoid it drying out, look for shampoos with no sulfates since the sulfates are the main ingredient in shampoo that's stripping your hair of it's natural oils as well as dirt. Having this shampoo on hand for every day you and then a regular shampoo for the weekend or as needed.
