I got my underarms waxed for the first time like 3 weeks ago. When i first go it waxed, it was red but i thought it would go away. but now, the redness turned to light brown and it won't go away. it looks like a bad tan. anyone have this too? do you know if it goes away?

apparently its from skin friction (like shaving)...and also any sort of irriation to the skin (like certain ingredients from your deodorant and waxing).

it doesnt really go away since we constantly shave/wax our pits...

...but you can try bleaching creams BUT if you've noticed your mom/dad/grandparents have had the same problem, its probably genetics so you should try going to a dermatologist.

i have the same problem! it was also my first time to wax just recently, turned red now dark.. I am really worried because the whole of my left underarm is involved--- looks like I have a rectangular dark patch on my underarm.. it took the shape of the strip.. its really ugly..

what happened to your underarm skin now? did it eventually fade?
don't get overly affected with the things you see from an internet forum site... :D

i know... it really sucks big time.. *super sad face*
yeah i've tried to exfoliate with milk salts, it somehow lightened but only a bit.. still obvious tho..
i should search for an epilator as well.

i would second the epilator recommendation + exfoliation with a body scrub in that area~
and avoid the commercial deodorants or anti-perspirants, try a natural deodorant spray (from dr hauschka, tom's of maine, etc)

^ My suggestion also =)

Maybe try the crystal deodorant? That's what I do.
It could also be cause you just waxed your underarms though. When I first epilated, (besides being in pain) the skin was all red and irritated and then it turned brown for a few days. But after that, it changed back to normal on it's own and healed.
