I'm not quite sure what handy I should buy... S500i and W580i are really similar.....but I don't know what handy I should buy....please help me >__<

the w580i is sorta like an upgrade from the s500i, although i use the w580i, i wouldnt realli recommend any of them unless you realli like it.
there have been many reviews about each phone and one of its negativities is the cracks on the buttons.
its a decent phone in the sense of it does what a phone should do, but theres nothing THAT special about it... i think =.= (but personally i think that the camera isnt that great [despite the 2mp])

if i had to i would get the w580i, or better yet wait till S.E announces a product lol ^.^;

depends. w580i is better 'cause it's a walkman phone. s500i isn't and only has a simple media player. plus u can shake the w580i to the next song rather than pressing - but is it that hard to just press the NEXT button rather than for sony to create a pointless concept like this on a phone? but it works for some ppl.

otherwise the specs are near identical: the w580i is slightly bigger - the s500i is more slimmer (much slimmer). both are 240x320 resolution size, 12mb int and up to 2gbs ext (M2 card)

my sis has the s500i and its lovely for picture taking and doing stuff better than a motorola phone and SE's usually have the best battery time.

so, if you don't want to spend a lot: s500i - cheaper (much cheaper), same specs as w580i, it just that it's not a 'w' phone but who cares .

but if you got the moolah: w580i: same specs, but with 'w', better headphones, but not as cheap as the s500i. I have no idea WHY the s500i is a cheap phone considering the stuff it has.

i think around $200. i got mines for $200 something o.o

oh and for the s500i.. i dropped it a lot and slammed it on the desk several times cus i put mines in like my front pocket of my bag for school and it never broke or cracked. && omg the s500i is soo prettyy. i was like =o when i first got it.

THE S500i IS (practically) the W580i!!

The W580i is an American phone (used by AT&T) and S500i is from some other country.
THAT IS WHY if you do get the S500i and it breaks (which I heard breaks really easily -- one person's broke after 3 months AND COULD NOT BE FIXED) another friend of mine said that the slider thing gets loose really fast) you have no warranty! The W580i does have warranty up to 1 year.

I actually preferred the S500 but then some AT&T guy started lecturing me about how it's exactly the same except for color. And he's the phone guy right? I think he knows best.

the w580i is like for people who likes music and the s500i is for people who likes nature and life
i got the s500i i think that the s500i is okay but the thing i dont like about w580i it hasnt got any flash themes or things
the s500i comes with a theme that changes day and night and month
if i were you i will go for the s500i cus the w580i gets a screen problem it goes blanc i use to have it
