I wear contacts instead. xD
But my evening glasses, aside of just choosing thinner lens I also got thicker frames so that they won't seem TOO big.
Because thinning your lens can only do so much.

well...i would say that you should get contacts if you really dont like the thickness of yourlenses. (i have REALLY bad eye sight too, lol. -6.5 and -7.0 =[ ) but i guess you can do what hysteric_ c said and just get thicker frames...then it wont be too noticeable.

Last i checked, i think i'm same as the person above.

The thing about glasses is that when i wear them for a prolong period of time, it leaves two marks where the frame rests on my nose bridge. And it looks weird when i am not wearing it. (Actually i think i just need a new pair..) But i do not want to switch to contacts because i have this phobia of things entering my eyes. And digging the lens day in day out sounds like a nightmare for me!

I have astigmatism =\ and mine is pretty high too
I got thin lenses but before that I wore contacts
but I don't have time for it now so I got new glasses instead =)

and when I wore contacts, good thing my doctor made me use the opti-free instead of the renue one =x
cuz it was around the time when renue users complained of some fungi or something in those lines =\

i have almost the same perscription as you. my it's -7.50 for my left. anywho i'm using a lense that is easily scratched and brakeable but it's THINNER then the lenses that kids use. it's lenses made for people around 18 and older since they say young adults and adults break things less. anywho i'm current 15, 16 in ocotber and they let me use it. i forgot what it is called but yah. (: you can get contacts or emo glasses.

I wear contacts, im -7.5 left and -8 right T_T. but I do wear glasses occasionally.
I have plastic rimmed glasses (emo-type i guess lol) to hide the thickness-this was recommended to me by doctors vision works. But yeah, whenever I wear them people never notice how thick my glasses are (until they try them on! haha) they usually give me compliments on how nice they look^^

you can get your lenses 'thinned'
it makes them thinner, but not too much.

i have around the same eyesight as you,

i got my lenses to be thinned,
and it worked pretty well
they`re still pretty thick,
and jut out a bit through the back of my glasses
but you can`t notice it,
unless you took my glasses off and examined them

i'm -6.25 for both eyes. you should get those black rimmed glasses (most people call them emo glasses), they're thick so they hide the thickness of the lens.

O_O Wow... I'm -3.75...not sure if thats horrible but if I needed thick frames I think I'd just go with emo's :3
But I wear contacts like majority of the time...glasses only when I'm at home or going on a long drive o-o;

i forgot how high i was but suffice to say i'm one of the few that can't get Lasik or PRK cuz my prescription is too high... so yah i'm pretty much blind XP but i wear contacts so.... like the others said contacts or change your frames XD

I have bad eyesight too and I wear emo glasses... the black framed ones, and I also have another pair of glasses that is almost traslucent. They look good.
