Ipod Warranty

hey guys
my ipod is dead and my warranty has recently expired. HOWEVER, i am hoping to use my friend's proof of purchase for her ipod to take it to warranty. does anyone know if that will work. like, is there a match between the serial number and the invoice? ><

I throw away my receipts, if one thing breaks I buy a new one phew.gif

Do check if there is a serial number on your receipt. If it matches your friend's iPod, then you have no shot.
