So, anyone have any ideas for self- protection???

I think one would be "learning martial arts" for self defence..

Yeah, self-defense, never go anywhere alone (always with 2+ others), do not go home in the dark by yourself, do not use the bus or skytrain late at night, remember to use your elbows because they hurt <3, watch your drink if you go clubbing (because people can insert evil drugs), and just be wary about your surroundings.

If you think a man is following you, and you've been seeing him on the streets near you for quite awhile and you've been walking for a long time-- he probably is waiting for you two to go to a place where you'd be alone and do the evil stuff. Lol. or, he just lives near you. <3

Krav maga is a really good self-defense technique - it's no-nonsense, get the job done as quickly as possible. It focuses primarily on incapacitating the attacker, really without regard to how much damage is inflicted, just so long as they are physically incapable of attacking any longer. It may sound brutal from a philosophical perspective, but if someone is trying to rape you you can't exactly take the time to wax philosophical, you want to stop them NOW. This does that.

there are sickos out there, who make plans on how to rape a person. they put weird stuff into your drink, follow you around and attack when you�re not prepared. the best thing you can do is to avoid dangerous situations... by avoiding going home alone when it�s dark etc.

There are women out there who drug up guys, to get themselves pregnant. Some women haven't had "it" for a while for various reasons, the scariest one being that they have a STD, and it's not anything to laugh about.

Men getting raped isn't like an abduction, blindfolded and held down type of thing, and I don't understand how come some people are laughing at that. The ones that have been reported are usually in a time line of seduction, drugged, and done.

Men should be just as careful as women when meeting new people.

Again, rape is all about dominance. Men are raped by other men who seek power and dominance. If a woman wants to rape a fan while he's awake, good luck with that because chances are he'd overpower you, and you can't really have sex with a man while he's out of it (no penetration). An erection requires a conscious host to keep 'it' up. Of course, you can always anally rape the guy, but uhhhh...Yeah, why would you do that?
