so im getting a WHITE tC next month (wish i could get something better, but ill be getting my dads 07 mdx soon so watever)

and obviously im not gonna tune it except put in an intake for better gas mileage

but however im tryna do a few things (appearance wise) and was wondering if it would look straight up tacky or i could pull it off....

soo i was plannning on ...

buying te37 volks (18s i think) and get the lip painted light pink this color but darker
paint the calipers pink
paint/buy pink wheel locks
plus a cute pink decal or something ...

but it might clash with the red taillights that ill be getting

so do u guys think it'll be okay or not...and i dont have photoshop so i have no idea if it'll look good but basically i want a cute car smile.gif

It is your car and we cannot give that much power into your car but in my opinion, do not put anything you listed PLEASE!

1.) Why do you want to do that, when you are possibly getting an MDX? Unless you are keeping the tC as your "cute car", save the money until you know you are getting the MDX.
2.) Is there any particular reason why go 18" on the Volks? Biggers rims equals more weight, slower acceleration.
3.) If you are going to get Volks, get a set of new lug-nuts with a key.
4.) Intake doesn't save gas mileage. You are adding horsepower which means you are getting more crappy mpg. You'll just add noise and 3-5 whp at most.
5.) ...hello kitty sticker...you girls like that stuff.

I think you have a fine idea for your car. Keep it real and don't be scared to do whatever to it. Just remember that its your car and hopefully one day when its your sisters car, she can do whatever she wants to it.

Her car let her do what she wants. I say more pink power to ya.

Im afraid that the just pink lip would clash with the white car. Instead, paint your rims pink =) The lip being the only pink color.... dont think it would match. Maybe if you had pink sideskirts and a pink bumper (would have to get aftermarket, something that blends with the sideskirts) plus the lip it would match. I would slap on an exhaust and intake to let the car breath a bit better and to give it a mellow tone. Dont forget pink subwoofer too. You can change out the pannel lights for pink as well. Hmmm what else, thats all I can think of right now. If you are going to do suspension stuff u can pain your sway bars, struts pink too.

If you are going to go with a pink color, go all the way. If the bodykit doesn't look nice, scrap it and just paint ur wheels and calipers pink.

I was going to go with a black and red motif, until I realized how expensive stuff really is and how the same money could be spent so much better in performance parts rather than exterior/interior looks.

i once saw this one tc that was dark gray with tinted headlights and taillights and the wheels were bordered pink. that looked pretty nice. so if your afraid that the pink will clash with the red just tint the red into a gray or black.

Because her dad just might change his mind about the MDX. Could even trade it in for something better for himself. You never know.

Wrong. Stock 16" wheels from Scion are heavier than you may think they are. 18" wheels can be lighter. On top of that, you are adding low profile tires which translate to less rubber on the wheel meaning less weight. If you get the sizing right, you can effectively remove about 14-20 pounds per wheel.

Wrong again. All depends on how you drive. If you don't gun it like you probably normally do with your "V8" subie, yea, you'll turn it into one gigantic gas guzzler with even with a tC. Be gentle on the throttle, well you've just improved your MPG. Adding more horsepower doesn't always mean crappy MPG. More HP per pound (car weight) helps overall performance. And yes, that includes your MPG.

Yes, how could we have forgotten that? Hello Kitty Stickers = 15 extra HP. Look, let's not get into the business of stereotyping girls. I've met my fair share of girls who know more about cars than the average tuning buff would know.

i don't think there's anything wrong with adding a girly touch to rims. painting the caliper pink is too much though.

here's my recommendation on the TE37:

don't paint the lip pink. it will look weird as hell. rather than painting the lip pink you could get pink VOLK and RAYS stickers for the rims. also, you could paint a thin pink ring/get a pink sticker ring on the outside lip like these time attacks:

good luck.
i'd like to thank graceyoon and melkimx for warning me to 40%. thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Do what you want to do with your car like someone else said, it's your car. Everyone has different taste so to each his/her own.
I think 18's would look too bug on your car, maybe 17's would do. Just dont go overboard with pink because it can get tacky like someone said. If you want to paint your calipers, go right ahead. I kind of regret painting mines.

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

You are right, I don't know. I'm just trying to sway her decision in saving some money before the final decision comes down before she blows all her money.

No where in my post did I say she was keeping her stock rims. You mean to tell me that 17" TE-37 rims are heavier than 18" TE-37 rims? If you were on the same page as I was, you would know what I was talking about. Take a 1 lb wheel with a 8" diameter, and take a wheel that weighs the same with a 1" bigger in diameter. What do you think is going to win?

Her car weighs 2900-3000 lbs which gets crappy mpg anyways as with my car, it weighs 200-300 lbs more. The cold air intake will add performance, but in return you lose mpg. Buy an STi and tell me you'll get added performance for a CAI. The last GC8 was a version VI, the GD Chassis currently have the version VII and VIII. Hence v8subie, the displacement of my car has nothing to do with it. Sorry to disappoint you.

If that is what you are thinking when I made that remark...I don't care. I know a few girls to that own a couple tuned up cars. One of owns a supercharged BB6.

Please don't tell me about my own car. In the end you are more wrong than right. I apologize for sounding like an jackhole, but your post seemed offensive.

kimbab01, if you want your car to a have the pink color talk to iLL TK. Pretty sure the person can help you out. Sorry for sounding like a jackhole earlier.
