Why do you want to apply as a junior?
Your GPA is good, but you should definitely try to get involved.
A lot of people have high GPAs.
The way that colleges see what sets you apart is your extracurriculars and essay.

what's the point of applying as a junior to college if you're going to enter the same year as everyone else your age? it's extremely uncommon to do so, even among people who have a GPA about 4.0 but practically everyone who's going to apply to the top schools in our nation have a GPA that is above 4.0. it also makes no difference if you apply early or not. like mentioned, i would really suggest you take up some extracurricular activities soon before it's too late. now schools don't just look at GPA. they want someone who's well-rounded. i've heard of a lot of cases where people with good SAT scores and GPAs have been rejected because that's all they have.
it's normal to think about which schools you want to go to and prepare for them, but you really don't need to be applying to them right now.
