i learned about the lower waterline when I was younger and I always thought that it just looked better on the bottom up until I began to work and it became a hassle to draw the lower line and then I only did the top part. I know we have a top waterline but how can you tell where it is??? because I have a tendency to draw my upper line VERY close to the lashes but I still sometimes get the colored mucous in the mornings

Hmm, that's interesting. I knew it was always bad but I keep doing it. Maybe I should try out that Technakohl eyeliner you suggested. Thanks. biggrin.gif

I just started putting in on my lower waterline like 2 weeks ago.
i usually put in a little bit beneath my eyes, avoiding the waterline...

i don't.
just the thought of it didn't seem safe to me.
i've tried it, it never stays though, so i don't see the point.
i do my upper lids above my lash line and rarely the bottom lash line.
for the bottom, i line right on the lashes. it shouldnt look harsh. i just use it to make my lash line look fuller

And I wish that we had never talked,
Our hips said it all..

i used to put it on my upper waterline cuz it looked a lot more natural than putting it above the lashes, made my eyes bigger, and my lashes thicker...but it would always sting after a while and little flecks would get into my eyes..i started researching it and turns out..it was a bad thing to do that...so i stopped xD

I never apply eyeliner on my waterline/inner rim of my eyes, because it's always scared me when girls apply so much eyeliner on their inner rims it looks as though its going to clog their tear ducts. Not to mention that whenever I see girls apply eyeliner they always go over their tear ducts with the pencil over and over and I feel like cringing -__- Also - there was a time when my friend didn't sharpen her pencil carefully enough and ended up with a gouge on her inner rim >.o.

I didn't know that it could pigment your sclera though 0_o. All the more reason not to do it lol. However, your sclera does has the tendency to get darker or obtain that "yellowish" tinge the older you get - so maybe you're noticing the effects? The red veins in your eye are definitely a sign of irritation though - I used to have that as a recurring problem near my irises and the corners of my eyes. I stopped applying eyeshadow and everything else for a while and it cleared up - if you use a non-flaking mascara, it helps a lot too ^^. Also - my eyes during that period of time looked fractionally darker, but that's because of the blood vessels in your eyes swelling and making the colour of your eyes muddier. For a temporary solution, use blue based makeup to make the whites of your eyes standout. Or get blue tinted eyedrops from your optometrist. I think that if you leave your eyes to recuperate for a while, they should return to the way they were a few months ago.

I also wondered about what you siad in your sidenote too..some people tell me that lining their top and bottom rims make their eyes seem bigger, and others say it makes them look smaller. Personally, I think just it defines your eye and doesn't do very much for creating the illusion of bigger eyes =/

edit: I forgot to mention, you can also get the eyedrops that constrict the blood vessels in your eyes and give it a white apearance, but again, it's only a temporary solution until your eye recovers on its own.

if i do, it's on my lower waterline, but only very rarely because it usually smudges and always makes my eyes red.

nope, never. it just looks like it would hurt. crazy.gif but i know this girl who puts eyeliner on the bottom below the waterline, and it looks horrendous! >.< so, i think you can do it once in a while, but definitely not everyday, and definitely never put eyeliner on the bottom below the waterline.

i only put eyeliner on the top, right above the lashes. =)

I NEVER put it on the water line..
It hurts my eyes when I accidentally put eyeliner on there.
Not all eyeliner-under-the-lashes job are horrible -__-''
Mine doesn't look bad...then again, I had a make up session with a perfessional artist,
So it just depends on how good you are with eyeliner.

I don't do eyeliner, but I know that it infects your eyes if you don't do it correctly.
Now that I think about it, I don't do makeup AT ALL.

Oh no. I've been using liquid liner alot, and I noticed that the white part of my eyes are getting 'darker.' I also wake up every morning with my eyes feeling 'gooey' and I rub them and I see black specks. :S This is horrible. I always wear eye make up. And I don't even do it on my water line. ohmy.gif

I always thought liquid was bad for the waterline o.o

I use clinique's quickliner and it's absolutely safe.

I actually try not to put any eyeliner on the waterline... so it usually goes a tad lower than that. I mean, I don't want to get any eye infections from makeup XD

Back in highschool, I was always in a rush to do my makeup (cuz I was always running late, heh).
I don't use EYELINER PENCIL, but I use the Shiseido black eyeshadow and use a eyeliner brush to brush it on my waterline.
Of course, sometimes, the product would get in my eye and other stuff, because I wasn't careful.

One day, I woke up with this huge, nasty sty on my eye and it freaked me out so bad... it was so huge it swelled over my eye and I couldn't even open it. I had to wear pitch black sunglasses in the building! It lasted for two and a half weeks!!!!

So after that happened, I woke up half an hour early every day (or the days I feel like wearing makeup) just to do it properly and carefully.. what can I say, you learn from your mistakes. =P
