so for school, i'm a part of leadership & i'm commissioner of diversity.

and i'm currently low on ideas.. so please help me!

i have no types of funding from the school (i don't even have an account) so i have to start fundraising for money.
the money is supposed to help but not limited to: a school club, school decorations. & necessary supplies to celebrate diversity (ie: buttons, keychains etc.)
i would sell buttons, keychains and stuff but i can't if i don't have any money to start with !
we currently have $0.00 !

what sucks is that:

i am NOT ALLOWED to sell food (which was what i was dependent on but the federal law says i can't)
i CANNOT do a car wash (no teachers/parents would sponsor me + too big of an event for a "small part of leadership")
i CANNOT do restaurant fundraisers (no teachers/parents would sponsor me + too big of an event for a "small part of leadership")

PLEASE HELP ME sad.gif I'M DESPERATE.

What my school always had was introducing casual clothing days (assuming you are attending a school that has a uniform), where students bring in $1 or more to donate.

Other than that, you can introduce amusement games that can bring in the cash.

you could always ask restaurants and businesses if they can have like coupons for you to sell. advertisement for them, and raising money for you.

well i was the ASB treasurer and one fundraiser that was really successful was graduation/ valentine grams.
i used the student body money to buy the supplies.
but since u said there's $0 i guess you can buy it with your money and get reimbursed later? o.o?

Yeah, a junk sale sounds good... find all your old stuff you don't need anymore and see how it fares...

I can't believe you can't sell food.... I was going to suggest toffee.

in my city, there's a new act or whatever that's being taken very seriously to promote better health.
the thing is that we cannot sell food on campuses between 730am-330pm (normal school hours are 8-2)
its a federal law or whatever but the city has taken it very seriously.
the initial rules were that each item cannot contain more than 25% sugar or something and cannot be over 100 calories
but all that is gone.
we can't sell any type of food, anything related to food at all.

the reason why it was taken seriously was because apparently the students who did sell food for fundraising and such were taking away money from the social services (cafeteria) and stuff so we had to stop.

and. even though diversity IS supposed to be a wide spread topic where everyone should join together & enjoy.. it isn't really.
a lot of the teachers really hate taking time away from their personal lives and rarely likes to sponser students.
i mean there's a few but it's hard to fit in carwashes into the master schedule since the leadership classes always takes over those spots to fundraise for prom, grad night etc.

it's really difficult sad.gif

Maybe organise a social gathering? Like a dance? o_o $15pp entry fee?

A raffle? Lottery?

Good movie marathon after school?

Teacher Auction? Student Auction?

Yeah, that's pretty much all I can think of. Hope it helps.

And that's a bummer about that new act but I suppose it can't be helped. I think my school actually did that too during my last year there.

^ AGREE.

YARD SALES!

you'll be surprised at how many people do come.
i was the vice president for the 'teacher of tomorrow' club.
one day... we made about... $300. i think. or more.

but... it's a good start. so you'll have something in the account.
but that's kinda... bleh.
our clubs, usually make sure that there's at least
$300 for the next year.

but anyways. it's doable.
i hope that whatever methods you do, you'll make cash!
dont worry about no food. it's just another fun challenge that you'll have fun beating.

french club... we sold... 'lawn mowing time'.

but anyways.

GOOD LUCK!! GET 'EM!

Why don't you take some stuff that you and your friends don't need and sell that? For reasonable prices...

A coffee house / art jammnig section after school

my school LOVES it, wat u do is u start a

coffee house time afterschool (use the cafeteria) have food like cookies or semthing(or not if u're not allowed food AFTER SCHOOL. and plus u're not selling it, its just there for ppl to eat), and u get ur school bands to play music or some stuents whos talented in telling jokes or soemthing while people just sit, chat and hang out and they pay like a fee to get in.

or

Art Jamming (PEOPLE LOVE THIS)
u spend money (dont worry u'll gain it back) on cheap paint and big peices of paper. take the caf or soemtwhere with big tables and have the people who wants to join to pay and be in groups to paint a collage or picture of the club u're fundrasiing for

so u can do a diversity art jamming where people are in groups of 4 and they paint what they all think represents diversity. since its alot of different people they all have different styles of painting and the end result is really pretty. then u can sell it to the school (?) or just hang it around the school on diversity day or seomthing.

if u hav any questions, feel free to pm me.

Since the coupon thing was out, how about a car show mixed in with a battle of the bands?

$50 (or soemthing you think is fair) to get the band in the competition. Each band will have a jar which you put money in for the one you think is best. Divide the money made by the entries and the money each made in half and that's the pot for winning.
Winner gets half
Second gets 3/4 of what's left
Third gets the rest.

Do it on a Saturday so your school parking lot is empty. $10 to get your car in the show, open to anyone.
Do the same like you did for the band.

$2 to get in as a spectator.

You have a car show and music. If you advertise it enough for at least a month, you should have a big turnout.
