Everyone will have certain subjects that will end up being of NO use to them whatsoever. I for one am NEVER going to have to use my knowledge of more advanced chemistry and physics in the real world (hopefully), but I'm not denying its importance.
*shrug* Just stick it out, if you have to take the class. (I just thought it was kinda weird that of all the school subjects you wondered about geography, which seems fairly practical I guess)

We tend to always place ourselves somewhere, in terms of just having an
idea of where we fit into this world, county, city, or what not. If we don't,
it's almost like we're lost.
idk, it also just helps in picturing events, connections etc...

LMFAO
I don't know, in geography I was taught different climate zones, what mountains, peaks, and valleys were, etc...things like that. We only spent a week on where certain places were. But you could eventually use that in the real world.

Why did cities by rivers and oceans become bigger than cities inland?
Why do countries fight over land that we think of as trivial?
Why are some countries full of wild animals that can be domesticated while other aren't?

Some people need to be less self-centered and be open-minded about the world (cough Americans whose news sometimes focus on celeb news like Jessica Simpson and Nick's divorce and Paris Hilton, JEEZ GIVE ME A BREAK! THERE ARE WAY MORE IMPORTANT THINGS THAT SHOULD BE ON THE NEWS THAN THEM.). Makes me embarrassed of this country sometimes....
Geography is DEFINITELY NOT a strange subject at all, wait, why do you even think it's strange at all? It's a must to learn about geography becauses don't you think it's important to know where you live and where you are located? and etc etc etc.

actually geography is very important on an everyday standard, and survival wise, knowing your land is really helpful.

You call someone and they ask you which direction the sun is facing you, and you say "The sun is not out today!!"

Lol , students over here get to choose if they want to study pure geography , which includes both physical and human geography , or just elective geography where you study only human geography .
Since I'm doing pure literature in school , I can only choose to take human geography as a subject . It's quite interesting once you get the hang of it cos the questions are usually standard , but I think physical geog's way cooler ! You get to learn about volcanoes and countries !
Yeah , I have to agree geography's like everywhere .
