i've been wanting to do a big batch of kimbap or sushi with non raw ingredients...e.g. cucumber, egg, rice, crab sticks etc
and i want to do a big batch and put it in my fridge and eat whenever i want...without having to make it. is that possible or the rice is going to become too hard to eat it?

and also to bring it at school, e.g. homemade bento... is it safe to leave it in your locker from like 8am to noon or do you absolutely need an ice pack (thing that keeps your lunchbox cold)...just asking because i dont use lunchbox....just a zipploc plastic box to put my sandwich in...takes a whole lot less space and fits in my schoolbag..

thanks! (dont give wrong answers because otherwise ill end up sick at school LOL)

not too sure about bringing it to school - i want to bring a homemade bento too.
but we have a fridge for the seniors, so thats okay.
dont know if its safe to leave it in your locker though ~

Kimbap doesn't taste that great after its been in the refridgerator for a while...its best when the rice is still nice and warm after you make it <3
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Don't use an ice pack in your bento if you're packing kimbab. It'll harden the rice and potentially make the nori all soggy. Leave it at room temperature if you're going to eat it that day (not too hot, not too cold).

And usually, you should eat kimbab the day it's made. IF you want to eat it the next day or even maybe the day after that (and you've saved it in the fridge - cuz it could go bad otherwise), you should get some eggs, batter them up, and fry them. Otherwise, there may be potential food-poisoning (depending various factors), or it just won't taste good - the rice will harden and if you try to microwave it, the nori will DEFINITELY get soggy and the contents' qualities will change (depending on the ingredients). So I think the best way is to fry them with eggs - tastes pretty good. smile.gif
