Hey guys. I was just curious to know; I am starting my junior year this year and my GPA is currently a 2.8 due to my slacking off sophomore year. Do I still have a chance to get into college? And would I be able to raise my GPA to at least a 3.3 (With all A's and B's) by the end of the year? >.> So stressed....

I'm in the same position you are (though my GPA might be a 3.0 or not :/ I haven't checked my current GPA plus the Acadeca teacher forgot to give me a grade dry.gif). I slacked of Sophomore year also and my GPA went down.
You do have a chance to get into college. Just try to not get D's or F's, (and C's).With your new grades you will be able to raise your GPA...just focus.
But are you taking any honors or AP classes?

Deathnote: I am taking 4 honors classes. (3 online) and the rest are regular because I have 7 academic classes at school. That's a total of 10 classes. I felt that I needed to balance out my regular and honors. That's too many classes at once...>.> It's stressing me out...

Hi. This will sound really bad but I started my junior year with I believe a.... I think it's around a 2.4 GPA... I had a 77 transcript average. I worked VERY hard and my report card grades were 80s, high 80s... i.e. 88 and around there. My 3rd marking period grades ( the grades that go into the transcript) were high, low 90s. Here's the catch, even though I did good BOTH semesters, it is NOT possible to reach a 80 transcript average, a 2.8 gpa. I am sorry to say this to you, but if you have a 2.8 gpa, you will NOT be able to reach a 3.3 even with all As and Bs. and YES! You can STILL get into college. I worked my butt off in junior year and that's the year the schools say count the most. I was accepted into my top choice, Juniata College, one of the top 100 liberal arts schools in U.S. I also had to exceed in other things such as my essay and extracurricular work. I also did Early Decision for the school which my parents got really mad about ( I was really scared I wasn't going to get into college). Juniata College accepted me and they gave me some money. Please do not give up hope and please if not for yourself, for your parents work hard !!! Please send me a private message if you need anything and please send me a private message if I helped. smile.gif

is that 2.8 gpa weighted or unweighted? i'm going to assume that it's weighted.
anyways, i'm technically in the same situation as you are. I'm doing a whole lot better this year.
I agree with GrandMasterYip.
