: update video/sound/motherboard/directx drivers and get latest patch for the game...

Want to be mean? Lets also say it possibly means hardware troubles.
Go to the control panel, system, advance, startup and recovery, under system failure, uncheck automatically restart. That way if you get the bluescreen of death you can read what you broke.
Next is a physical check of your fans, make sure they arent dust zombies. If that is fine, its power supply or ram.
Try to figure it out through software first... my answers always cost money.

ugh i think its power supply >.<! I bought the wrong card.. geforce 6600 and it requires alot of power to run it...
w/o it I was doing fine but I wanted to play BF2 so i bought the card but thats giving me problems..
well thx for the help to uncheck the thing.. XD

Yeah, I like to blame power supplies all the time... basicaly if I cant figure it out... buy a PSU.. no? Um.. buy a mobo... no?! um.. buy a new CPU+RAM+VIDEO CARD!! haha I like "fixing things"
