Only the person accessing your instructor's account can read it, and hopefully, that's just your instructor. Your work is also added to the database of all other written works (articles, books, etc.) as well as other people's works that have been sent to turnitin. This way, all future works sent in to turnitin will be compared against all works on the database, including yours.
Feel free to msg me if you want contact info :D

Aparrently it's used to to match numerous amounts of words/sentences, a way in which to weed out those who plagiarize. Nope, only the instructor can check it. But you can still go back and look at what you submitted, I believe.
I'm really thankful that you're alive. The news about you is my reason for living. We should meet at least once while living. No matter what you're doing be healthy and always live happily. For you being born, for meeting you... I'm so thankful.

I hate Turnitin. I find the whole freaken system ridiculous. Why I feel so, because recently my course unit used turnitin for the first time because apparently "the majority of the people in the unit had plagiarised!" What the hell, the questions only have one answer so to answer it, of course our answers would be somewhat similar or the FREAKEN SAME. Goodness me. I can curse the whole system out like crazy but it's not going to make a difference. I heard that the person who made the system said it was a stupid idea. haha
Edit: Realised I just ranted instead of answering the posters question. I believe that only your instructor is able to read it and not anybody else.

^ Hm..I don't think that's as much a problem with turnitin itself as it is with your prof's decision to use it. If anything, it shows that turnitin works because it's telling the prof that all these answers are either the same, or too similar. If that was the nature of your assignment, then your prof should've known better than to use it in the first place.

blah theres this bar in there that shows how much originality our papers had, but i had to write a report in MLA format, so i was quoting some stuff and citing it, in the end it said i had only 20% originality >.< it made it mad

As far as I know, only the professor can look at what you turned in. I personally don't like the system either because it says I used references and sources that I didn't even look at. How do you copy something that you've never seen?

erm, you probably got the answer already, but yeah. Your account is linked to your instructor's so only he/she can view it. We were supposed to go through this site in school too, but we never did and i graduated. eheh >_<
