yes, it's one of the famous duet, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp once again.
I don't really know the plot line of Sweeney Todd (never heard it before, the Broadway show nor the book) but my first impression was it's somewhere between Edward's Scissorshand and Sleepy Hallow

Based on the 19th century legend of Sweeney Todd and the hit Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Sweeney Todd a.k.a Benjamin Barker returns to London after being sent away by Judge Turpin with the help of a sailor, Anthony Hope. He opens a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop were she sells "the worst pies in London." With the help of Mrs. Lovett, Todd tries to rid of all the people who have ever done him wrong and hopes to be reunited with his daughter, Joanna, who is now Judge Turpin's ward.

I'm a big fan of Tim Burton movies, especially those with Johnny Depp in them, so I'm definitely excited for Sweeney Todd. I'm actually really interested to see how the singing will turn out, whether it will be up to par with the Broadway version (which a lot of people said was very good).

i've been waiting for this and the darjeeling limited for the longest time. one thing i'm a little sad abt--i know it's based on a musical, but i wish danny elfman were still involved somehow, either for an original piece or additional score. elfman + sondheim could've been sickk.

Oooh, that second poster is unbelievable. Awesome. I personally am a huge fan of Johnny Depp, so practically anything with him would do good in my book.

I'm actually curious to see how this movie would pan out, because I wasn't particularly impressed with Corpse Bride. But anyways, can't wait to see yet another work of him and Tim Burton.

so everyone's saying they love the burton-depp tag team, but what was your first encounter? i remember watching 'edward scissorhands' on tv 13 years ago and being completely awestruck, even though i didn't even understand the hidden meaning behind the story. i was amazed by the colors they used and the way the neighborhood is portrayed. it was my fifth tim burton (i'd seen all the previous burton films and 'batman returns' before i saw this, not knowing who the director was) and my second johnny depp after 21 jump street. i recognized depp right away cos i loved tom hanson but wasn't quite prepared for how different he is in the film. eighteen depps and seven burtons later they remain one of my perverse joys in the world of movies.
